After leaving school at 5 p.m., Mi Woo
was about to go to his job, so he was on his way to the railway station.
As he was walking on the footpath, his phone rang.
Tring ...
Tring ...
He took out his phone from his pocket and answered.
"Hello! Boss?"
"Hey boy, how was your college?"
From the other side, a man with the heavy voice of a 51-year-old retired hunter questioned.
"Don't ask about that, boss.
So many things have happened today. I
will tell you everything in detail once I'm there—in a few minutes." (Mi Woo answered the boss while walking.)
"You're not picking your sister up for home today?" the boss questioned.
"Ji Woo will go home with Mom and Dad after his treatment, so I'll directly come to work," (Mi Woo answered.)
"Where are you right now?" (Boss questioned.)
"I'm near the station. I'll take the 5:30 train," (Mi Woo answered.)
"Where's your bike?" (Boss asked.)
"Joe took it. He said he'll return it tomorrow morning."
"There's a Neo Hardware Store near
the station. I want some equipment for gym repairs. You just have to go there and take the bag.
I'll give you the list on Messenger.
Check them before taking, okay?"
"Okay, boss uncle," (Mi Woo said and cut the phone.)
"You little rascal,"
said the old man with a trimmed beard and muscular build.
Wearing a black gym t-shirt, his body made it clear—he had been through many battles and dominated them like an apex predator.
Mi Woo went to the store and bought a big bag full of heavy repair equipment.
He turned right, took the footpath, and started to walk toward the station, enjoying the view of the big buildings, humming his favorite song.
Near the station, he saw a child
crying on the footpath. She was a girl
who looked around 5 years old,
holding a doll of a knight in her hand.
Mi Woo went close to her and asked,
"Why are you crying, little lady? Where is your mama?"
"Up in heaven."
That answer from the little girl
was enough to shake the very soul of Mi Woo.
Mi Woo's voice became heavy. He cleared his throat.
"So who is the one who brought this lady and left her alone? Was it your papa?"
(in a soft voice) Mi Woo said.
The little girl nodded in affirmation.
"So where is your papa?"
"He's at that shop buying toys for Nina,"
she pointed her finger at the other side of the road.
"So why was Nina crying?" Mi Woo asked.
The little girl pointed at the doll of a princess lying in the middle of the road.
"Nina's princess got separated from her."
"Don't worry, your Mi Woo oppa will rescue your princess for you."
And he left, carefully avoiding cars on the road.
He got to the doll, picked it up, and threw a soft catch toward the girl.
Nina caught it, and with a cheerful smile, she said,
"Thank you, oppa."
Mi Woo raised his hand with a thumbs-up.
Before he could move, a small black hole emitting blue light and smoke appeared on his left side, sucking him inside...
All the people on the road witnessed this, shocked to the core.
