Chapter 20 - Ep[4 ] (Scene 1 ) Two strangers

In the cave filled with the light of glowing stones, they were like colorful light bulbs but brighter than your average light bulbs.

Even in that cave, calling it dark would be unfaithful to the scenery.

At the wall, Mi-woo and Cha Yeon-ah were sitting with their backs resting against two other walls, making the place they were in covered on three sides by stone walls. Looked like a 30-square-meter room.

Surprisingly, even though the cave as far as one could see was glowing with mana stones and colorful mosses, there were no mana stones in that room-like area. But the outside mana stone shine was enough to fill the room with light.

The air was filled with awkwardness and silence—what to speak, neither of those two strangers knew…

He was eating his lunch soundly.

The air was awkward, but it was not uncomfortable for Mi-woo. Being the chill person he was, he just ate.

Cha Yeon-ah was trying to divert her brain from this awkwardness by just looking at the deep cave with glowing stones. By the looks of it, the cave was 90 meters wide and hundreds of meters long before a blocking wall and a right-turning path continuing deeper into the dungeon.

Of course, she could only see the wall, not the turn, because of the glowing mana stones. But it was common knowledge for a hunter that even a below-average dungeon is kilometers long.

Small ant-like creatures could be seen on the wall, gray in color—same as the stone—probably so they could protect themselves from predators.

Some glowing lizards in different colors, some of them with two heads. They are also known as twin-headed lizards.

There was an entire ecosystem present there, so mesmerizing it could make anyone forget the dangerousness of the situation and envelop them in its beauty—just like Delphinium*.

Even though she was trained not to be hypnotized by the mesmerizing beauty of a dungeon, and she didn't, the beauty was still so pleasing that she could only admire it. She thought:

"It's far more beautiful than what I've seen in holograms or even videos… so this is the experience of a dungeon."

But suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by Mi-woo.

"Hey, miss."

She turned while saying, "Yes, ssi?"

Mi-woo smiled. Even with just a few words, he was mesmerized by her low-pitched, cute voice—it felt a little familiar to him.

He thought, "I have heard this voice somewhere," but was confused—if he had heard it before, why couldn't he recognize the person? And besides, he couldn't even see her face.

He wondered, "Where have I heard this voice? I never forget a person's voice or face. Why can't I remember her?"

He asked her,

"Miss, do you want to eat something? The portal is closed, there will be no help—better fill your tummy before any monster attacks."

If there were any other rich girl instead of Cha Yeon-ah, she might have rejected the offer, thinking: Did he put something in the food while I wasn't looking? What is he scheming?

But because she was a hunter, she was immune to most drugs, and she knew this guy wasn't awakened because of the mana watch.

Besides, the delicious smell of the food made by Mi-woo's father was making it hard for her to refuse the offer.

She nodded, and Mi-woo gave her a lunchbox which had kimbap, dakgangjeong, and mandu.

As she took the lunchbox, removed the mouth part of her mask, and took her first bite of kimbap, her eyes closed—the rice had both softness and crunchiness at the same time.

She had eaten in the most luxurious restaurants in the world, but that taste… it was like she entered the heaven of taste.

Her moment was interrupted by Mi-woo.

"You can take off your mask. This dungeon is not poisonous, not radioactive."
