"Why would this be lying here? And where's the rest of it?" Lila asked the pressing question, her gaze closing in on Penelope, who—up until now—had been the only one to provide them with any answers of some sort.
Penelope responded with a shrug.
"That's beyond what I can say."
"Trinket told me earlier that he had his suspicions of a soul-collector on the loose."
Penelope and Lila looked at him like they were seeing him for the first time.
Kion suddenly remembered that they would not know much about it, given that this was a different timeline.
He chose his next words carefully.
