A few days had passed, Moon having knocked Kai down quite a few times in training. Kai has gotten the complete hang of flying, unlike before this was streamlined, seamless, he cut through the air like a knife cutting through warm butter. He'd taken off after further training his physical strength with her help, and she'd eagerly fly after him, smiling softly at the expression on his face, over the past few days, as she looked at him her heart felt warm, a heat racing through her body, but it didn't hurt, realistically, it felt... nice, addictive, a feeling she never wanted to disappear, and it burned brighter, hotter as she spent time with the boy.
"This is fun, and feels nice!" Kai's voice rang out loud, excited about the fact that he not only got the hang of it so soon, but also the feeling of flying. Kai's clear and loud voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she smiled at him. They would fly around a bit, Kai relaxing as they flew, the cool breeze helping him relax, warm eyes gazing at him, watching him, watching the wind brush through his fur. He looked so soft, and she also wondered if he had scales underneath all that fluff. Eventually they landed at the castle gate, ready to head inside, "What are you two doing?" A strong male voice came from next to them.
When they looked, they saw a bigger dragon. Kai, recognizing who it was immediately bowed to them. "M-my king." He stuttered. Yamo stepped in between them. "I was helping him get the hang of flying and training him up a bit." Moon explained. Yamo looked right into her eyes. "Well, he doesn't need to train with you he can just train with our top warriors." He stated simply and sternly, seeming to notice something in his daughter's gaze that only made the overprotective dragon angry, or angrier.
"Oh, come on, father, you know from the old texts that those of ancient bloods have always been to protect the royal family after saving the world from an extreme threat, assuming they survive, and the best way to do that is if he trains with-" Moon was ruthlessly cut off by Yamo's heavy voice. "With the top guards and then eventually the elders as well as those of high power outside the kingdom, not, with you." Yamo said sternly, now glaring at Kai, he was angry for obvious reasons but also because of what he knew he'd have to do and needed to prevent his daughter from getting too attatched to the boy, and he could easily tell he was too late. He was also angry that it was just a boy that he was supposed to capture and bring to the witch for what he could only assume a fate worse than death. He fealt that fate was far too cruel.
"And if you're going to say he could train with royals, I can train him, I don't want you taking your time with him, you've got more important things to do, like preparing for the throne for when that time comes." Yamo replied. "And you," he proceeded, turning to face Kai, "you can go find your parents where you belong. I'll send for you when I'm good and ready." He said, leaving no room for discussion. Kai nodded, not daring to do anything to provoke his king.
But neither he nor Moon knew of his true plan. Kai immediately fled the scene, terrified of the larger dragon's wrath. "Father what was that about?!" Moon asked angrily. "You like him don't you?" Yamo answered with a stern question. Moon was taken aback by the question. "How did you-?" She asked him, feeling heavily confused about his question, she had no clue how he could possibly have known. "Your eyes, they speak more than the words one, or one's body may speak."
He replied simply, "Just.. stay away from him, forget those feelings before they grow any stronger. I tell you this for your own good, forget him, besides you're far too young for such notions." He told his daughter before entering the castle, Ria soon arrived beside him and Moon followed right behind them, finding the last part a bit odd, not to mention the flicker of confliction she'd noticed in his eyes. She tailed her parents, stalking them, staying hidden, standing outside their room listening for a conversation, wishing to figure out what was going on, worried for her new friend.
"I don't know what to do love, she's developing feelings for him, but if we don't do as instructed, that witch will take her instead..." Yamo expressed to his mate. "We'll have to break her heart... even if she finds out and hates us for it. Who knows what that witch would do with her or what poachers she may sell her to would do with her, they could shove her into some sick program." Ria stated, her tone worried, sure this dragon of ancient blood might be able to do something someday, but she and Yamo knew this witch was more powerful than any of them. And they felt that by the time Kai became strong enough, it'd be too late, so they made a plan.
"Alright, I'll call him out for training in the middle of the night. Knock him out, and take him to the location specified by the witch." Yamo explained with a nod. "He'll go in piece, and our little princess will be nonethewiser as to what happened. Of course, she'd most definitely be very upset when she learns he's gone, but there's nothing else we can really do, besides she'll get over it quickly, love at first sight isn't real, and young dragons like her date and break up all the time, the only exception is if or when marked by another so this shouldn't be too bad." Yamo rambled on, clearly worried for his daughter, trying to find any and every justification with futility, and him even trying made him feel even worse.
He snapped out of it and smiled softly at his mate, giving her a small nuzzle. "Wish me luck, and sorry about that." He whispered quietly. "It's fine, honestly it's refreshing to see you so worried, but that's why I love you, you're so passionate about the things you love, like me." Ria stated with an odd change in her tone, and this was when Moon decided it was a perfect time to leave since she'd gleaned whatever information she needed, and it was clear the subject had changed, so she had no reason to stick around the room. "Now question is how do I warn him, I don't know how much time he has before they enact their plan, Probably a few hours since it's quite far from midnight. " She told herself. She'd gotten lost in her mind, distraught and helpless with no clue what to do for the one that had somehow managed to capture her heart without even trying, or even noticing for that matter.
In the end she left that spot and headed for where Kai's parents were staying, remembering what her father had told him to fo, deliberating on what she should say when she got there, especially since it would probably be weird having a nervous stumbling princess appear at one' doorstep, especially if they're the parents of the boy she'd be there to see.
