Sitting on the sofa, Yu Lan quickly replayed the last few days in her mind, back to her final messages with Yu Wenzhou.
His mood had been normal.
That morning, they had eaten breakfast together, and Yu Wenzhou had even driven her to the Science Research Institute.
At the breakfast table, they had even decided what to have for dinner that night.
Yu Wenzhou made delicious spicy spareribs, and Yu Lan could always eat an extra bowl of rice whenever he cooked them.
They had planned to go to the nearby supermarket together that evening to buy groceries.
But then Yu Lan received his message about going to work on an off-world planet. It came so suddenly that their plans were abandoned.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
But the fact that nothing seemed wrong was, in itself, the biggest problem.
