Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Deciding What to Sell at the Stall

Jiang Xin said this not deliberately to spite Mrs. Fu.

Her words even carried a hint of puzzlement.

Before traveling through time, she had already lived nearly three hundred years in the post-apocalyptic world.

Every day she faced nothing but zombies, it was practically impossible to find any living people.

Therefore, she appeared particularly unfamiliar with handling social interactions.

Having just come here, she was indeed not clear about the Fu Family's rules.

But, when Mrs. Fu heard her words, she just felt that Jiang Xin was being antagonistic!

Look at how aggressive that tone is!

From the moment Jiang Xin turned her head, Mrs. Fu couldn't help but size her up several times.

Originally, she wondered what Jiang Xin was doing with a basin of water outside.

Turns out, she was tidying herself up.

Mrs. Fu thought that it was good for Jiang Xin to pay attention to her image.

No matter what, Jiang Xin is now their family's daughter-in-law, going out with the title of Fu Yu's wife.

If she were to walk around looking unkempt, eventually being laughed at wouldn't just reflect on Jiang Xin but also on the Fu Family!

After hearing Jiang Xin's unfriendly tone, Mrs. Fu's expression also turned sour.

She couldn't hold back a retort, rolling her eyes at Jiang Xin, then she said to her:

"There's no rule against you going out."

"But at least tell me where you're going, that's the minimum respect, so I don't lose track of you when you're gone."

"What are you doing going to town? It's almost two o'clock, you need to be back before dark!"

Mrs. Fu still had unsaid words.

Though she was not worried about where Jiang Xin went, if something happened to her as an adult while at their house,

ultimately, the Fu Family would still suffer.

So, even if Mrs. Fu didn't like Jiang Xin, she couldn't help but remind her, asking where she was going.

There was nothing to hide, Jiang Xin answered truthfully:

"Just wandering around town, staying at home makes one go crazy."

"I'll try to come back before dark."

After briefly explaining, Jiang Xin stepped out of the Fu Family's courtyard with large strides.

Mrs. Fu, after hearing Jiang Xin's response, felt like punching a cloud.

She didn't even know what to say.

Anyway, the house hadn't been quiet all morning.

It's better that Jiang Xin left, saved her from being an eyesore, out of sight, out of mind, allowing for some peace.

As long as she's back before dark, Mrs. Fu promised she wouldn't interfere at all!

Mr. Fu looked at Mrs. Fu's expression, feeling a bit clueless.

Being a man, his thoughts weren't as meticulous as Mrs. Fu's were, he couldn't think of those twists and turns.

Noticing Mrs. Fu staring at Jiang Xin's departing figure, he remained silent for a moment, finally bursting out:

"The person's long gone, better hurry up and get to work, there's more to do later!"

His comment was met with a cold glare from Mrs. Fu.

Mr. Fu rubbed his nose, honestly still unsure what Mrs. Fu was thinking.

Women's hearts are like needles in the sea, too hard to guess.

After a while, Mrs. Fu spoke hesitantly with a question:

"Why do I feel like Jiang Xin seems a bit different now?"

The response she got was Mr. Fu's silence.

...

On the other hand, Jiang Xin relied on the original body's memory, walking along the village road.

About twenty minutes later, she arrived in town.

She looked at the scene before her, dilapidated streets, scarcely a few cars on the road, with only a few bicycles here and there.

People dressed simply, carrying a unique rustic charm of this era, engulfing her,

This was Jiang Xin's first direct encounter with this world's backwardness.

She rubbed her temple, feeling a headache.

It seemed that making her first pot of gold in this era would be difficult.

Her original plan was simple, she wanted to take things out from her space and sell them at the market for money.

After all, her space was not lacking in good items.

But seeing this now, it seemed the consumer purchasing power might not be great.

Jiang Xin found herself troubled before she even started.

Considering the situation, she could only choose some everyday common items from her space to try selling.

The original owner wasn't local, so Jiang Xin wasn't familiar with the town either.

It took quite an effort for her to find the exact location of the market.

She asked several people during this time, specifically picking on elderly folks, who not only showed her the way but also praised her appearance.

After a few compliments, her mood improved.

Especially when a kind-hearted aunt, after hearing Jiang Xin's intent to set up a stall at the market, kindly informed her about the internal regulations of the market.

Through this aunt, Jiang Xin learned quite a lot about the requirements for setting up a stall in the market.

Currently, besides those with shops, the market stalls were unassigned.

It's generally first-come, first-served, and moreover, no booth fee was required.

Hearing this, Jiang Xin was overjoyed.

Isn't this equivalent to zero investment with high returns?

Not spending a penny on cost, only to make money, thinking about it feels fantastic.

After thanking the kind aunt, she then aimlessly wandered around the market.

Since she had decided to set up a stall, she had to align with the current real situation of this era.

Investigate what the vendors in the market were selling.

Jiang Xin circled around and made her way to the vicinity of the mobile stalls, checking out what others were selling, mainly daily necessities.

The more common items were thermos, aluminum lunchboxes, towels, candles, and other sundries.

Or, nearby villagers would bring eggs from their hens to sell at the market.

The current era was different, city dwellers needed ration tickets to buy eggs, and for smaller families, those sufficed.

But for larger families, the quota on the tickets wasn't nearly enough.

So, understandingly, everyone flocked to the market to buy eggs at higher prices for consumption.

After observing for a long time, Jiang Xin found that the most popular items were still food-related.

So, almost without hesitation, Jiang Xin decided on her category—food ingredients.

People in town were not like the villagers, compared to the villagers who worked all year round and earned very little, townsfolk had formal jobs with fixed monthly salaries, so they were more willing to spend money on improving their meals.

Thinking this way made it much easier to handle.

Her space contained various, diverse, fresh ingredients from around the world.

Not only could they lock in freshness to ensure quality, but also provide an infinite supply, inexhaustible.

Jiang Xin quickly left the market, found a secluded spot, and began transporting supplies from her space.
