Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Kicking Fu Yu—Just Thinking About It Feels Great!

Just thinking about it makes me feel over the moon!

If that's the case, she could get rich just by reselling the supplies from the space.

By then, she could even save up some money and buy a little house of her own in this town.

That way, she wouldn't have to worry about being homeless if she divorced Fu Yu in the future.

Absolutely!

One could say that wealth is the best security for a person.

Only by becoming strong oneself can one stop living in constant fear.

As for those Fu Family Members who bullied her?

Hmph!

Once Fu Yu comes back from sailing, she'll just kick him to the curb!

Let him also taste the bitterness of a hurt ego.

In this era, if a wife kicks her husband out, wouldn't he become the laughingstock of the whole village?

Just thinking about that situation made Jiang Xin's lips curl up unconsciously, and oh, how delightful it felt!

Soon, the dishes Jiang Xin ordered were served.

She picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of wild rabbit meat, curious about how the chef prepared it.

It seemed the rabbit meat was fried in oil before being stir-fried; it was crispy and tasted fantastic.

And the beef pastries, they tasted exceptional too.

The beef was so fresh that it didn't have any off-flavor at all.

Jiang Xin couldn't even remember the last time she had enjoyed such delicious food.

Living in the end times was tough; even though she had unlimited supplies, she could only steam and boil, making do with simple meals.

Opportunities to indulge in such heavily spiced and oily, satisfying meals were few and far between.

Jiang Xin felt that dining out at the restaurant was incredibly worthwhile!

If the owner wanted to charge her double, that wouldn't be out of the question.

As she ate, she recalled what happened today while setting up a stall at the market.

Jiang Xin thought of some things and suddenly felt that setting up a stall in the market long-term wasn't such a great strategy.

After all, this town is small, and the chances of running into someone she knows are quite high.

There's no telling when a villager from Longxi Village might whimsically come to the market for groceries.

If she's among strangers, she can lie, saying the goods she's selling are from her rural family home.

But what if she runs into someone familiar?

How would she then explain the origin of the goods she's selling?

It would be hard not to raise suspicion!

By then, no matter what she says, people probably wouldn't believe her, right?

So, regarding setting up a stall, it's better to be a little more cautious.

It would be best if she could find an assistant to help her, providing a good cover.

By staying out of sight, she'd avoid being recognized and could dodge many troubles.

But this might be a bit challenging to implement.

In Longxi Village, she's already seen as an outsider.

With what happened with Fu Yu, the villagers probably despise her by now.

Finding a helper in the village might be harder than climbing to the sky.

If the villagers find out she's reselling goods at the market,

their first reaction would probably be to report her to the police for theft or robbery.

Jiang Xin's previously bright mood turned dismal in an instant.

She pondered a strategy, and the dishes she'd only taken a few bites of suddenly lost their appeal.

However, Jiang Xin then thought she was being overly anxious over these things.

Why worry so much?

Surely, she doesn't need to stress over things that haven't even happened?

She should just keep reselling and earn the money first.

All the rest can be dealt with when she gets discovered.

What if she's the lucky one who never gets caught?

It's not impossible!

She can completely take this time while setting up stalls to find a good helper for herself.

By then, hiring someone to sell goods for her and paying them a wage would solve the problem, wouldn't it?

After all, solutions always outnumber the difficulties. There's no need to let these undeveloped troubles affect her current mood.

Jiang Xin quickly figured it out.

After finishing her meal, she glanced at the clock hanging on the wall of the State-owned Restaurant.

It was almost five o'clock in the evening.

The sky outside was gradually darkening, showing signs of nightfall.

Jiang Xin put down her chopsticks and called the waiter to settle the bill.

After paying, she picked up her carrying pole and walked out of the State-owned Restaurant in big strides.

As usual, she first found an empty spot to store the pole back in her space.

After all, the journey from the town to Longxi Village takes about twenty minutes by foot.

If she were to carry the pole all the way, she'd be exhausted.

Moreover, the pole came from her space. If seen by Fu Family's parents, they'd bombard her with questions.

So it's safer to hide it back in the space.

By the time she reached the entrance of Longxi Village, the sky had turned completely dark.

Jiang Xin peeked forward and noticed that many households in the village had already turned on their lights.

All those lights, yet not one belonging to her.

The Fu Family lived not far from the village entrance, so Jiang Xin standing there could see the scene inside the Fu Family's yard at this moment.

It was pitch black, though if she stretched her neck, she could vaguely see the dim light inside the house.

It was evident they were using a kerosene lamp.

Jiang Xin shook her head, thinking she couldn't bear to live such a frugal life as the Fu parents did.

If she weren't planning to divorce Fu Yu, she'd have renovated the old Fu house all over again.

Comfort is what's most important!

But now, there's probably no need for that.

What if she just finished remodeling the Fu house, only for Fu Yu to return a few days after?

Wouldn't she end up being a fool, making a wedding dress for someone else?

No way she wants that!

So it's better to endure, and after she divorces Fu Yu, and regains her freedom, she can choose wherever she wants to live.

Jiang Xin clenched her fist, thinking about the situation in the Fu house, and instantly felt reluctant to return.

After all, even though she and Fu Yu had a marriage certificate, the Fu family never treated her as real family.

Mrs. Fu couldn't despise her enough!

Jiang Xin really didn't want to step into such a "home."

But now, she had no other choice and could only brace herself to go back.

Longxi Village got its name due to a small river at the village entrance.

To enter the village, one must cross the river.

The bridge over the small river was built over fifty years ago, with funds raised by the villagers together.

The bridge is quite narrow, but walking across it feels stable, and there's no need to worry about safety issues.
