Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Daughter She Didn't Want

The slap was so fierce that Serena Sullivan was left stunned.

Why does everyone enjoy taking it out on her, this useless person!

Yesterday it was Ethan Grant, today Claire Sullivan's slap was even harsher.

"Miss!"

Aunt Chen saw the bright red mark on Serena's cheek and stomped her foot in distress, saying to Claire, "Miss Serena has suffered so much, she finally came back, how can you still hit her!"

This mother and daughter have relied on each other for years, but the more time passes, the more they can't stand each other.

Now, every time they meet, it ends in a fight.

"I don't have such a shameless daughter!" Claire replied coldly, leaving Aunt Chen to sigh and shake her head in helplessness.

"Mom!" Serena ignored the slap mark on her face, tugged at her clothes, and smiled at Claire, saying, "Four years ago, I had a car accident, was lying unconscious in the hospital bed, and you didn't come to see me; during the four years, I sought medical help abroad for my legs, and you never reached out to find me."

"As soon as I returned to The Sullivan Family, you weren't hesitant to hit me." This was the second slap from her.

Serena's words made Claire's face pale then flush, her eyes flickered with some guilt and shame, she remembered the incident at the wedding and pointed at Serena to accuse her again, "Don't pull this on me!"

"Before the wedding, Zoe went missing, did you have someone kidnap her!"

Half an hour before the wedding began last night, she suddenly received a call saying Zoe was nowhere to be found.

She hurriedly left the banquet with her husband, searching for Zoe everywhere.

They searched for more than an hour, found her, and rushed to the wedding venue with Zoe, but were late. Serena ended up marrying Ethan Grant instead of Zoe, completing the ceremony.

So if it wasn't Serena, then who else could it have been!

"It wasn't!"

Serena replied with a faint smile; they all thought she did it.

In fact, apart from using the information she found to threaten Ethan Grant, she had nothing to do with anything else.

What a pity, Claire, her closest kin in this world, firmly believed she orchestrated it, "It's you causing this trouble!"

Claire said sternly and very assuredly.

Serena couldn't be bothered to argue further, she looked up at the somber-faced Claire, the smile on her lips growing a bit wider.

Claire met Serena's eyes full of mockery, a sense of panic emerged from her heart. Even though she was standing and Serena was seated, somehow her daughter could overbear others with her aura.

"Serena!" Claire stood straight, asking, "Why did you steal your sister's fiancé!"

"Sister?"

Serena laughed, "Didn't you only give birth to me?"

"Who did you have her with!"

"You..."

Claire was so angry that her face turned red, remembering how obedient and sensible Serena was as a child, and now she's opposing her at every turn, becoming so detestable!

"Yes, Zoe Quinn is the daughter of the man you loved most."

And she, Serena, is the daughter Claire didn't want.

"Serena!"

Claire wished she could go over and slap Serena again, she glanced at Aunt Chen beside her, suppressing the fury rising in her chest, clenched her fist, and questioned, "Are you that desperate for a man?"

Serena smiled and seriously replied, "Yes!"

She lowered her head, reached out to touch her legs beneath the long skirt, weak legs, even with long-term care, they were like flowers without water, withered.

"Mom, have you seen my legs?"
