Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 : Beast Ranking

Chapter 19 : Beast Ranking

The beast ranking was released for all to see.

*Ding*

[Beast Ranking]

1 - ??? [Master : Khan]

Axton was the sole occupant of the beast ranking and no one else since no other player had acquired one.

He was in first position without a doubt and even the system prompt announced it as such.

The fact the type and name of his beast was hidden from public eyes made players even more curious and hungry to know what kind of beast he acquired.

Following the current trends of his jaw dropping feats, many thought about the most ridiculous of things.

"Won't be shocked if he gets a gryphon."

"Maybe it would be the Kraken itself."

"A world devouring serpent perhaps."

"Fenrir."

"Even if it's too cliche. I guess, a dragon."

Everyone had a guess.

No player dreamt about having a beast under them as they were not qualified yet but this Khan person already had one.

After the first announcement was broadcasted, some of the players who were envious of Axton's success quickly reached out to the developers via their official website.

They requested that this "cheating player" be investigated and duly punished for what he had done.

The messages carried more certainties than allegations, as they confidently claimed that he was somehow cheating.

In response to these growing accusatory messages against a single player called Khan, the developers released a statement of their own that shocked the world.

"Sequel to information we have initially made public, New Eden is a parallel world to our and we are yet to harness its full potential. At present, we can only connect our consciousness to this world and do not have the power or command to delete any player's account or tamper with any form of data that relates to any player."

The response was clear and concise, much to the distaste of those who petitioned.

However, it opened up another perspective on how these players viewed New Eden.

It was not just a simple virtual game.

It was a real world on its own.

World powers that were involved in the development of New Eden also wanted to make use of cheats in it but it was not possible. This was the reason why what Axton was currently achieving as Khan was becoming more and more significant.

"The player Khan is not using a cheat. He is also not one of the developers," they wrote further down their statement.

"Player Khan is simply a player who has achieved all has without cutting corners."

As expected, countless reactions and comments were manifested under the post since people did not get the response that they sought after.

They kept hammering on the point that Axton was able to acquire a beast so early in the game which was contrary to the official requirement released by them.

*Bang*

"That's not possible! There's no way it is!" one from a group of men dressed in white lab coats shouted.

He was furious, pissed at the petitions they were getting from players concerning the player called Khan.

"If he was using a cheat or had somehow hacked our system, it would have been discovered. There is no way a single person is able to bypass the security that we put in place here, physically or digitally."

This scientist was angry as his face fumed red. "The technology implemented here currently surpasses what we have on Earth. How then is it possible?"

Even the developers were taken aback by the anomaly that existed as Khan.

They had to come up with some gibberish excuse for why it was possible for him to do what he did so they could calm the situation down.

Regardless of their attempts to settle the chaos, there were still a group of players who were not satisfied with their responses.

On the other hand, some of the high ranking players of New Eden recognised the potential that Axton brought to the table.

"That guy probably has an S rank talent. I should find him and make him my ally."

"If I can get him into my guild as a member, I might have a chance at having an S rank talent awakener in my ranks."

"I should join him and his team. He's strong."

Many of these players with foresight either wanted to join Axton or recruit him into their own squad.

Guilds started to move, aiming to attract Axton with the large sum they promised to give him.

"White Fox Guild will offer the player, Khan, a sum of five million if he agrees to join us."

"Knight of Rounds is interested in recruiting Khan with a salary of ten million and a percent of the guild's shares to be discussed privately with him or her."

Silva, branch leader of the Grand Nexus Guild, saw all these declarations of interest and was not going to back down on getting the rare gem — a once in a lifetime talent — over to his guild.

He set his temporary hate aside and looked towards the future of Grand Nexus, seeing how bright it would be with Axton as a member.

"Grand Nexus Guild is interested in player Khan for a sum of thirty million."

These were big fishes in real life, after all, the first batch of players to enter New Eden were wealthy class players, considering the cost of the runic helmets.

Similar messages were dropping left, right and centre.

Every single one of them wanted Axton to become one of them and these guilds did not look like they would back down anytime soon.

They were willing to spend that much money to recruit Axton because they could already see the massive potential that he brings to the table.

He could earn them ten times more in returns if he continues at this rate.

The character "Khan" was an exceptional being in New Eden now and the entire world of New Eden wanted a piece.

Meanwhile, the person who had turned the world of New Eden over among players was not at all interested in all that was going on concerning him.
