Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Each Fighting Their Own Battle

As the saying goes, "An inch longer is an inch stronger." This nearly two-meter-long spear is far more effective than a short sword, at least in this situation.

With a short sword, one can only engage in close combat. Facing opponents of various races, even a moment's inattention could result in injury.

This is especially true after witnessing a worm-like creature burst out of its skin, thrust a sharp spike through an Abyssinian with only one eye, and swallow it whole.

After using his spear to fling a Tusken Raider from Tatooine aside, he resumed his evasive maneuvers.

He kept his goal firmly in mind.

He thought that this area probably didn't have the fake item he was looking for.

When he couldn't move, the Wookiee was always taking care of him; otherwise, his injuries would have worsened.

After he fainted, those Trandoshans must have electrocuted him many times. Ordinary electric shocks couldn't possibly cause such severe injuries. When he first woke up, he felt like he was about to be cooked.

He thought about the rules of the event again.

There were six sub-arenas, with over 300 people randomly assigned to each. The last ten people standing in each sub-arena would advance directly to the main arena.

Once there were only ten left, they could enter the main arena. There, they could wait or choose to enter other sub-arenas where the final ten had not yet been decided.

Gladiators entering other sub-arenas would take one of the ten spots in that arena.

Usually, except for the particularly ruthless, everyone waited in the main arena for the other arenas to decide the winners.

Those who chose to enter the other arenas made this rare and bloody massacre even more chaotic.

Lango had already decided to rush into the main arena early and then move to the other arenas.------The area around the first arena erupted in enthusiastic cheers.

Amir couldn't help but glance at the large screen in the center.

A Wookiee with a brown, furry body was flinging enemies several meters away with great force.

Amir's eyes widened, and he hurriedly called over a servant.

"Oh, sir, that gladiator is the one we just captured. He's the biggest draw of this tournament. Many people came here specifically to see him. A nobleman paid three thousand credit points for him."

"What's his name?"

"His name is Chewbacca, sir."

Amir studied the Wookiee closely. He was the famous first mate of the Millennium Falcon and Han Solo's loyal friend. Amir had always loved this character in his previous life.

He never expected to see him here.

If that's the case, then Han Solo must still be on Corellia, a small-time criminal fleeing with his girlfriend.

No, the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story couldn't be trusted. He had to confirm it himself.

Chewbacca was probably safe; after all, there was still a lot of his story to come. The one he should be worried about was Lando.

Suddenly, Lando launched an attack, swinging a long spear back and forth. With his agility, he knocked out several gladiators in poor condition.

Meanwhile, the big black bear finally collapsed on the ground, exhausted.

The four Tusken Raiders gathered, swinging sticks with great force and eliminating some of the people around them.

"Kid, want to team up? It's hard to make it to the finals alone," a human spectator called to Lango from a distance.

There were two other humans over there.

"With you, we'll be four. We can fight separately once we get into the main arena."

Lango looked at the huge, powerful gladiators fighting in the distance and didn't feel confident that he would survive.

Besides, they were all spectators who had entered the arena, so there was no reason for them to be enemies. The chance of being betrayed was small.

After thinking for a moment, Lango decided to join them.

"Haha, I knew you'd join us. My name is Mara Lanswas."

"We have to get rid of them quickly and enter the main arena," said the leader, a man with a messy beard and black hair.

"Agreed," said Lango.

After forming a temporary alliance, the group began to surround the injured people. The Tasken attackers and a few Duro people joined forces as well.

The situation grew increasingly tense.

During the attack, Malra's combat skills left Rango speechless. The man wielded a massive broadsword, swinging it relentlessly. No one could withstand his brute strength, causing Lango to question whether Malra was even human.

As if sensing Lango's doubts, Malra said, "Ha ha! I'm a cyborg. All my bodily tissues have been replaced with mechanical implants, which is why I'm so strong."

"That sounds expensive," Lang thought. He must be a bodyguard, trained by a wealthy corporation at great expense.

The four of them unleashed a bloody rampage in the third arena, leaving only three small groups facing off against each other.

To Amir's surprise, all four of the Tasken attackers were still there. Their combat skills were impressive, but no one was willing to pay a high price for them because they were ugly.

The other group was made up of several slaves who had banded together temporarily. They were also four in number and quite strong. They had caused most of the wounds on the big black bear.

The remaining twelve people on the field were locked in a standoff; none were willing to make the first move.

"Let's go, green brother. I'm in a hurry to get to the main venue." Mara slung his broadsword onto his back and bent his legs slightly.

"Don't move! Just watch!" Mara shouted at the Tasken attackers, regardless of whether they could understand him, and charged toward the group of four slaves.

The entire field had already witnessed the strength of the long-bearded man with the broad sword. The Tasken attackers whined and retreated.

Lango saw this and followed the other two, charging after Mara.

Amir tensed up instantly.

The two men across from him kept glancing at Lango; they were clearly up to no good. They pretended to surround Mara, but they were actually waiting for Lango to come forward.

Amir stared intently at the two men and extended his right hand.

The two sides clashed instantly.

Lango's massive broadsword swept horizontally, shaking the weapons in the two men's hands so violently that they nearly dropped them.

As Lango stepped forward, one of the men charged at him. His short sword was blocked by Lango's spear, however. The other man, who had been charging at Mara's two companions, suddenly turned around, pulled a short sword from behind his back, and stabbed Lango in the waist.

Lango was taken by surprise and couldn't dodge in time. Relying on his two companions to come to his rescue was too late.

However, the knife in midair seemed to encounter an invisible force. The attacker stumbled and his body shifted suddenly. He turned toward his own comrade and stabbed him instead.

"Thud." The comrade who was pinning Lango down looked down at the short knife in his stomach and the blood seeping out. His face was filled with shock.
