Chapter 27 - United Guild Meeting[2]

"First, I would like to thank all of you on showing up here today. I had thought some of you wouldn't come due to some old hostility towards the Dragon Guild and among yourselves as well." Rain said loudly, his voice laced with mockery.

Yet, the other hunters did nothing. They kept quiet and controlled their anger, but even if someone didn't then there was no hunter present in the room who could win against Rain.

He was among the strongest S Ranks, comparable to an SS Rank. People even said he was a SS Rank hunter now and was stronger than Maria.

"The Dragon Tribe is no longer a threat we can take lightly. They have forces aided by entities we cannot ignore. Intelligence suggests the involvements of demons from higher floors." Rain continues.

All of the members present looked at him in disbelief, all of them wondered if what he said was true or not.

If it was then this whole thing was a matter far more serious than they had taken it for. When they first arrived on the first floor they were limited to one area and now fifteen years later they have access to all of it.

But over the years they grew complacent, apart from the Dragon Tribe which lived in seclusion from the other tribes, the rest of them welcomed humans with open arms....well some did.

Rain had only recently entered the tower, before joining Dragon Guild he was in the New Federation military which went to the old world left behind after the fall.

They scavenged resources, data and whatnot so that the sectors and New Federation could continue operating. So, he wasn't like the others present in this room.

Then an old short man with a big beard who sat on the farthest edge of the table yelled out, "how certain are you rookie? You've been here for only four years whereas us? A decade has passed, we've seen Chief's die and get replaced and you talk about some threat from higher floors? My ass, cut the crap now rookie or el-"

Before the old man could finish an ice needle pierced his cheek making him flinch and fall off the chair.

"You may be experienced but don't underestimate the youngsters. You may never know when one leaves you behind in the dirt." Rain said as with another movement of his finger the ice needle came out of the mans cheek.

"Wonderful, another dick measuring conflict in the middle of the conference. How nice." Xior muttered and got glared by the people present.

"Let's not forget our agenda. As I said, the Dragon Guild is being aided by someone from the higher floors. They are the biggest hindrance to our progress as they hold the key to clearing the 10th floor.

They have a large network of spies who are trained and good at their work. The Tiger Tribe is aligned with them as well."

He moves towards the screen and points to the paths which connect the Dragon Tribe with the Tiger Tribe.

"We need to block this path so that communication between them is scarce. The Tiger's real base is unknown so next up is finding it.

In the meantime we will block the path connecting the two. I sent two of Dragon Guilds members, Xior and Becca for scouting missions and negotiations with the Wolf Tribe and the Rabbit Tribe. They were successful in making them agree to be a part of our alliance.

So, my proposal is that we form a temporary alliance until we clear the tenth floor."

Rain had worked out everything, the information he was going to disclose so that the others are easily swayed. All of them nodded in approval.

Rain sat down now as all of the members read information about each of the tribes on a small screen in front of them.

He had carefully observed and put together enough information were detailed, super detailed. Their tribe location, the current Chief, their numbers and their specialization in combat.

"Now that everyone has read this I would like to divide us into four groups based off of our roles normally.

Each guild will contribute according to its strength, aerial support, reconnaissance, suppression, and direct assault." Rain said.

"I assume these groups will be support/attacker types?" Another hunter sitting not far away asked.

"Yes, the groups are, scouts, frontline units, siege teams and support groups. Each of these groups will be lead by one of you as well, so please if you have any bad blood...forget about it for now.

We will gather resources and prepare for the confrontation with the Dragon Tribe now, a week from today we attack them." Rain declared.

With this the groups were formed and everyone took their roles and what was needed to do. The meeting came to an end as Rain, Becca and Xior were the only ones remaining in the room.

"Xior, have you been refining your mana? Maria told me that you had to do so since due to your past you've accumulated a lot of negative or reverse flow mana." Rain asked as he took out a cigarette and lit it up with his finger.

"Not really, I've been busy going from tribe to tribe. I haven't done much till now." Xior replied.

"You're just lazy, Xior. Accept it." Becca chuckled as she said it.

A small smile also formed on Rain's face as he continued "well from tomorrow you wont go to from tribe to tribe so you have plenty of time to train and absorb normal flowing mana."

As the three kept on talking to each other in the farthest edge of the continent, hidden behind thick trees was the Tiger Tribe's real base.

A tall figure covered in a hood walked through the streets of the Tiger Tribe base and arrived in front of the Tiger Chief.

He didn't say anything, just looked. He channeled mana through his runes and as they got activated two demons emerged out of him.

Then he turned to leave but stopped, "use them, it's an order from the nameless." The mysterious man finished and vanished from there.
