Chapter 35 - EGG

Ethan was happy, still excited from the day before, and he was patrolling(releasing some of the energy that Ethan accidentally gathered by excitement).

He was zipping around the town, fast enough to be a blur, not fast enough to cause damage. He remembered the suit once more and stopped to get it at the IHO.

Arriving on the floor, he saw the same man who took the suit, sitting there behind the desk.

Man: "Oh, it's you… You've grown quite popular. Even if I disapprove of your hero name."

Ethan: "Still stuck on that? Anyways, I want the new suit, please."

The man nodded and reached down, seemingly picking something up; he lifted it and put it on the desk; it was a plastic bag.

The man took something out of the bag and pulled it out.The suit was pitch black, smooth like liquid metal but solid to the touch. Its arms and legs were plain—no lines, no plates—just a clean surface that looked like it belonged in shadow. A faint stripe ran up the thighs, barely visible in the light, and each glove had a large, flat circle on the back of the palm, dull and inactive.

The chest held a single lightning symbol, palm-sized, not glowing. The helmet sat beside it—motorcycle-style, sleek, with wide, emotionless eyes that somehow still looked like they were judging you

Ethan: "This is very… underwhelming…"

Man: "Try it on."

Ethan sighed and lifted his hand to grab the suit, but it wrapped around his hands, before jumping onto him and covering him whole. The suit lit up.

The stripes on the thighs lit up, and so did the circles on the back of the palms and the stripes on the forearms. The helmet disappeared, and the suit wrapped Ethan's head, suffocating him at first, but it shifted and changed to the helmet.

The eyes that were wide and empty lit up and turned into anime-like eyes that expressed Ethan's shock and surprise. The eyes were wide open.

Ethan looked at himself, looking at the gloves, the shoes, the symbol that was now yellow, the mix of black and yellow was cool, the look of the suit was overwhelmingly cool.

He looked at the man who was smirking, he got up and gave Ethan a mirror, and he didn't see himself, but a motorcycle helmet with wide yellow eyes.

Ethan: "This… Is… Cool! Almost too cool! I love it!"

Man: "Thanks for choosing our service! You can go now."

Ethan left the IHO, and his surprise came back as excitement. He burst forward and began zipping around the streets, making the cars seem slow as he moved extremely fast. The suit felt more liberating and less hot from friction.

But as he was speeding around, a falling star in the sky caught his attention, but wait… It's still the afternoon, how is there a shooting sta- Oh… An asteroid.

He dashed, changing his direction to where the asteroid was heading. He needed to stop it before it could do damage. He started to create barriers that tilted upwards, and he was headed towards the asteroid.

And finally, he caught it, but instead of using his hands, he used his tentacle-like arms that he created using his powers to catch it.

Ethan tried to stop, but he was too fast, so he used his barriers to make the surface rougher so that friction would do its job.

After a lot of dragging, he finally stopped; his arms hurt, and so did his feet. He endured and jumped off when he reached the ground. He put down the asteroid, finally getting a good look at it. It looked metallic, like a metal ball that was beat up.

He touched it, but almost immediately it hummed, and then it opened up, a door appearing and opening, out came a strange figure holding a golden egg.

Ethan: "Nice egg, where'd you get it? The magical goose?"

The figure garbled before stepping into the sun; it didn't look human at all. It had two extra eyes and a set of arms; its skin was marble-white, and its feet were bare but consisted of just two toes.

It wore a white dress, it created an aura that felt calming and graceful, and it took Ethan off the edge. He was scared at first, but now he was calm.

It once again made more garble noises before a different voice glitched in, and suddenly it began talking English.

Alien: "Human, I have studied your species; it's selfish and greedy, but it isn't world-destroying… so… I need to give this egg to you, it is the fate of the universe."

Ethan: "How can you talk?… English, I mean."

Alien: "Galactic translator, not enough time to explain, take care of this egg, make sure to not give it to the wrong hands, I can sense great heroics deep within you, so make sure to raise it well, once it hatches, it will imprint on you, wanting to do what you do."

The alien forced the egg into Ethan's hands. Ethan stumbled back before looking at the egg now in his arms.

Alien: "The supreme egg must be protected from THEM. We are pacifists, but THEY are genocidal, they want the egg to kill and invade… If you raise the egg well, in the future, we will be allies, our species with yours."

Ethan stared at the egg and looked back at the alien, feeling like his head would begin to smoke and overload, but he instinctively nodded.

He held up the egg with both arms. Its size was big, like a beach ball, but egg-shaped, and the weight was heavier than any other material he had lifted(Except the Element 119 chunk at the beginning of his journey).

The alien walked back to the ship, and the door closed. It was clear that the alien trusts Ethan.

Enough trust to leave a galactic egg in his hands, part of him was still processing what happened, and the other held the egg tightly.

The ship whirred and began to lift, and in an instant, it disappeared into the sky, the wind flying around and causing a large gust.

Ethan slowly walked away, his mind still reeling about what had just happened.
