"We would die..?".
How...?".
"what's going on".
Eli held him by the shoulder.
"Well explain on the way"
She waved her hand, summoning a red a vial and handing it out to him.
"Here drink this.."
"What is that..?"
"Healing potion..". She answered.
Zach nervously took the vial and gulped the whole thing.
He felt the changes instantly.
His body felt cleaner, his bones clicked back into place, separated flesh fixed itself.
'This is what you get for The price of a house I guess '
"So what's going on..?"
He asked.
Aurora had summoned a healing potion by his side and was completely healed.
"Check your watch"
Zach raised a brow.
[ SYSTEM ALERT – FISSURE STATUS UPDATE ]
[Attention all cadets]
[The Fissure Energy Reading has escalated from Non-Dangerous to Δ (Delta) Level.
This marks a severe instability phase within the anomaly.]
[Directive:]
[All cadets are to immediately disengage current operations.]
[Return at once to the Fissure Anchor Zone for safety and containment procedures.]
[Await further instructions from Command and do not engage hostile entities without authorization.]
[Failure to comply may result in catastrophic risk.]
[End of Transmission.]
Zach stared at the watch perplexed.
The fissure was undergoing transmutation.
Transmutation was a fancy way of say the energy levels in the fissure is increasing, morphing every monster, into a deadly best.
In a delta ranked fissure, even an Imp level thyxar could whip out everyone on the rankings without breaking a sweat.
"This is bad..."
"Really bad.." Eli corrected.
Gregory walked up to them.
"The trials has ended.., there was no need to continue the duel" he spoke, his voice was steady even in this trival moment.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation.."
"I do.." Grey replied.
"But I don't see a reason to clamor about the inevitable. The best option is to head towards the fissure anchor before we spot anything powerful enough to kill us" Grey looked at Aurora.
"That's right" she said.
"In that case what are we waiting for..." Zach stood off the snow.
"We have to get going.."
Fissure weren't all that big, they were just pockets of space filled with unfavorable weather, mountains, rivers and a bunch of monsters.
They were a lest a kilometer from here, they could make it.
"I have a better way " aurora called out.
Zach couldn't believe they were literal serial killers just a moment ago, but now there all saints trying to help each other.
Aurora weaved her hand and w dazzling light enveloped the area.
The light came into shape into a massive wyvern like creatures with blue scales that glistened with light.
Its two muscular arm attracted to its wings flapped at it stood on its two legs.
Eli jumped on its back, like she was well accustomed to riding stuff like this.
To even see a wyvern in your life time was a luxury, talk less of riding it.
Wyrend cost more than hundreds of thousands of gold coins, which —if you can't tell already—could by you a entire private island.
Aurora steppnon top then Grey, Zach was the last to come above it's saddle, he suspiciously climbed into the beast and it took off into the ash skies..
"I'm high up..."
"I'm high up!!!" Zach looked down in horror as the ground got further and further below.
Eli chuckled behind him.
She of all people knew he was terrified of heights.
He hand trembled as the gripped the saddle tighter.
Both grey and Aurora looked at Zach with raised eyebrows.
"You've never been in one of these before?" Aurora asked.
"Well it would seem..!" Zach rolled his eyes.
"I wasn't born into riches like you guys ok, like normal people I take public transport".
Aurora was even more confused.
"What..?"
Eli knew why she was puzzled.
"Which family do you belong to" She asked.
"Nothing much, my mom died two weeks ago, and I basically live alone my elder brother"
"Wait!?, do you mean you are.. poor?"
That question was brutal.
"What does it looked like" Zach held a bitter smile.
"As you can see I don't ride in luxury 24/7 that should tell you the needful"
Aurora pondered for a moment.
Eli face palmed.
"Zach got his Gods fragment inside the ruins recently" She clarified.
The aurora eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"You say what..?"
She blinked.
She could believe it.
"Zach actually want theought a game..?"
Normally rich families buy their gods fragment for billons of gold coins, that's why aurora refused to believe the fact that Zach was poor.
But the fact that he acquired one by himself was.
'Truly unbelievable'
So unbelievable to the fact that she doesn't actually believe it.
She flashed a bright smile.
"Whoa, Ive never actually been in a game before, she leaned in grabbing his hand"
How did it look?.
How did you survive.
Zach was perplexed.
"Umm but you have a fragment yourself". Zach looked around.
"Yes we have fragments, that doesn't mean we acquired from games we played ourselves" Eli explained.
"Fragments are actually sold for billons on the real world so... one could possibly aquire it"
Zach eyes nearly popped out.
"Billons...?"
"You mean millons right...?"
*Nope... Billions..?"
Zach's eyes nearly rolled backwards.
So he had a billion coin investment in him..?.
"Uuggh umm... is there perhaps a way to get a fragment out of someone's body" Zach asked.
"Yeah. By killing them" Eli shrugged.
"Once a preson who possesses a fragment dies it would be automatically transferred to the killer" she pointed out.
"But there are exceptions though.."
"If you have a fragment storing weapon, you can kill the person and store their fragments in the weapon, which can later be sold at an astronomical price".
"So congrats..". Eli clapped
"You've just placed a target on your back"
"Just don't go around showing off your powers unless someone might just decide to pick interest in you" she paused.
"And when that happens... A backgroundless character like you can't possibly survive" she causally stated.
"Unless you get a permanent contract from an enterprise, there's no play you would survive showing off like that".
Zach gulped.
