Zach was in pain.
Despite the scales protecting him, absorbing most of the impact some still got through.
Zach's body was riddled with cracks as a layer of his skin peeled away like dust revealing multiple scars caused by the attack
Pressure filled the area as the knight walked closer to the group.
The devastating attack had pierced Arthur's shoulder leaving a hole on his right sidé.
Isaw bleed lifelessly on the snow—he was dead.
"Just one attack!!???"
Zach was sure, if he didn't have the darkscales, he would have been turn to crisp too.
Aurora was shielded by grey, Zach was shielded by the dark scales, Zach already assumed Eli had another logic defying treasure in her arsenal that saved her, and Arthur.
Arthur had a large would that gradually closed up, flesh weaving itself back on his shoulder.
*Step*
Zach heart beat got faster, time seemed to slow down.
He glaced at Aurora, her face was wide in terror, tears flowed down from her eyes as her vengeful gaze was locked on the knights figure.
His gazed trailed off to Eli, who was biting her lip so hard she bled, her body trembled. Zach didn't know if it was fear, anger, or something else entirely.
Arthur was gritted in pain, his kneel planted on the snow.
The knight raised it's blade into the sky once more.
'No...'
His eye widened.
'No...'
The knight blade pulsated the light glowed a bright golden, pointing it at the group of cadet.
"Well. You guys sure as hell know how to cause a stir.. " A familiar voice cracked the tension.
The knight paused turing it's head to the orign of the sound
The shimmering portal, a suspended shere of shifting blue liquid in the distance pulsated with a blue light and a figure walked out of it.
The blue light highlighted her silhouette in stark contrast, her brown hair cascaded, flowing with the winds as her dark ember eyes lazily glanced at the carnage in the distance.
She was wearing an officers uniform, a dark sleek body suit that highlighted her curves that looked like they were sculpted by a divine craftsman.q
Zach eye flashed with a glimmer of hope as he saw her
It was iris, the officer.
It seems like the outside had finally sent help.
The knight stopped it's attack, facing her, it could sense that she was a more powerful for than the cadets behind it.
It got into a stance, snow burst in all directions as it dashed towards Irsi's relaxed figure.
In a seco d it's blade was already inches away from her.
[INATE Ability]
*Bam*
A crushing force dropped the towering knight to its feet before her.
Zach mouth parted in astonishment as the knight blew before her, it looked like gravity had just increase by leaps and bounds.
The knight looked up at her with difficulty, killing intent radiating in it's eyes.
Iris summoned a card, and stuck her hand I to it bringing out a katana made with molten iron.
*Whoosh*
*Splat*
The blade moved, cleaving the knight head clean off in one fluid motion, all member of the group were all speechless.
It took six of them to injure the knight l, yet Eli did it in a split second.
Zach was starting to grasp the gap of strength between them.
Iris stood over the monsters dead body, her retina glinted with a hint of purple underneath the dark clouds.
"What are you waiting for! " she barked at the dazed cadets.
"Scurry along"
Arthur was the frist to moved, limping towards the exit, them Zach rushed in to support his friends balance.
Aurora stared at grey's body, then at isaw.
"Rest in peace". She walked away.
Eli still stood still, staring at Iris, then her gaze trailed off to the knights corpses laying on the ground.
"Little girl ?". Iris called out.
Eli blinked, and stared at her.
"The portal will close very soon, you sure you wanna be here for the next six months and 30 days?". Iris had a look.
Eli awkwardly made her way towards the portal, entering into it.
Iris was the only one present in the fissure, she looked around.
The battlefield was a grave yard, so many dead cadets, out of 2347 cadet thet entered the fissure only a hand few were able to make it out.
At least this will teach the enterprise to not send just anyone into a fissure because it had a low level.
The snowy ground had cracks all over, multiple severed limbs lying around, countless dead monsters the size of cars.
The battlefield looked like a scar on the world.
Iris stared for a bit and silently walked over to the portal the blue liquid embraced her as she walked through it.
