Chapter 36 - 36. The Witcher returns

The Witcher was a beast.

Like metaphorically.

It weaved through the groups attack dodgeing all the attacks and countering, despite being outnumbered six to one.

Aurora's spear tip gillemmered as she waved It around, the knight perfectly countered the attack, dodging a double bladed attack from Eli's sliver sword.

The knight twisted, planting it's feet on the ground shattering it on impact and sending cadet stumbling back.

The knight raised it's sword in the sky, summonimg lighting once again.

"INCOMING!!"

It planted it's sword into the snow sending volts of electricity into the ground with burst out of the snow in an erupting thunder

Zach jumped high and streaks of lighting burst out of the ground.

[Thunder shot]

A single steak of powerful lighting travelled but the knight raised his sword blocking it in an instant.

Eli's brow furrowed.

The knight waved it's blade, sending an arc of lightning at her which was blocked by auroras spear.

The battle raged on for a while.

The knight kept dodgeing and attack, it seems to not lose its momentum, like it was a mindless machine with the essence of perfection woven into it's programing.

Zach and Arthur would attack, Eli and Aurora flanked with skills from behind.

Gray acted as a sub, when the the duo would slip up, he would come to save the day.

Arthurs attack didn't quite pack a punch as Zach's or Grey, but what made him indespensible in this battle was his exceptional battle IQ, agility and cunning fighting style.

In the distance far away from the clash, a group of cadets clustered, debating something.

"It's suicide, Isaw. You saw what that thing did to the cadet who got too close. It's a Hunter rank" one cadet, a guy named who had the emblem of the western dragon enterprise, argued, his eyes occasionally glanced at the raging battle in the distance.

The clash of steel and flashes of light were barely visible from their hidden spot in the rocks.

"We have to help them! They're our comrades," Isaw insisted.

Isaw's whole team was gone there was nothing for him, yet he couldn't leave the very troop that even made their escape possible.

"If we all combine our forces maybe we can-"

"I'm going to have to stop you right there mate " A lean cadet wearing the jade enterprise uniform spoke.

"There a possibility of us dying out there, if you ask me I would say taking the safest path is the best"

"They're a bunch of idiots who got caught out," another cadet scoffed. "And besides, we have a portal right there. Why risk our lives for a lost cause?"

More of them nodded.

A tall, lean man with a winged insignia on his sleeve stepped forward, a grim expression on his face.

"He's right, kid. The Witcher is way above our pay grade. My contract doesn't include facing down a mythological beast just to be a hero. My job is to get my team and me out of here alive."

He gestured to a small group of cadets huddled behind him.

"We're out. Good luck with your noble cause, but don't expect us to join you."

With that, the man and his team broke from the cluster and began a rushed pace toward the shimmering portal.

"This is insane," The western enterprise seeker muttered, shaking his head. "They're probably already dead. Let's go."

With that most of the cadets walked away, until it was Isaw standing there.

He glaced at the portal, and back at the battle.

"Ahhh fu***ckk". He cursed walking towards the raging battle field.

He might just be thing to turn the tide of the battle around.

****

Zach had long stopped using the crimson overdrive, and his attacks were significantly weaker, but forcing the crimson overdrive on him could kill him at this point.

Zach felt lighter, not because he gained anything, as a matter of fact the reason was quiet the opposite.

He's lost too much blood.

The knight moved like avlur of silver, hurling itself at Aurora.

Aurora spear glowed as she charged straight into the silver knight.

[Sun ray]. The spear pulsated, emitting a bling beam of light that collided with the kingh the second before their figures collided.

The knight burst ofut from the dust cloud lashingsing it's body like a whip as it threw a devastating kick at Aurora.

Grey came through last second, taking the devastating blow straight in the gut, but instead of him to get knocked out, he slid back until hid back crashed into a boulder nearby.

His stood, his body flashed sliver, like a scale had surrounded his body

Two horns appeared on his head looking menaceimg as a floating crown appeared on his head.

'God's fragment.'

The ability of his form increases his weight to up to 20 tons, that was about the weight of a fully loaded truck.

But still that kick sent him flying.

An arc of red energy hit the knight, knocking it back.

It looked in the distance, it was Isaw.

That millisecond of distraction was enought for Zach to instantly activat crimson overdrive one more time, closing the gap in a instant.

His body quacked, his arms screamed at him to give up, but he couldn't, not just yet.

Zach had already planned how he would finish the monster off and that was...

He slashed as fast as he could, but the knight traced his movements, before it could strike a powerful grip grabbed it waist.

"Gotcha!" Grey grinned.

The rest of the team waisted no time this was an opportunity they wouldn't dare let slip away.

Zach's blade hit the space in between the metal armor making a cling sound.

It flew like it's skin were made of rocks.

Arthur came in, sliding the blade into the knight visor but it only meant a hard resistance.

Eli jumped above l, her blad glowed faint golden as she struck the helmet.

*BOOMMMM*

Eli didn't do that, it was the knight.

.the knight eyes glowed as a bright beam of light crashed down on it, eviscerating everything, the beam was so powerful it shatter everything around them, melting the snow beneath their feet Into glass.

Elis back collided with a hard surface, Isaw the distance got stuck with a devastating lighting strike, aurora was shielded once again by grey.

[Warning!!! The astra "Dark Scales" has been destroyed]

The lighting strike travelled through Zach's nerves, spikeing every electron in his body.

He body collaped limp on the snow, riddled with deep gashed that tore his black body suit apart.

"Uugghhhhh...". Zach raised his head from the snow.

Aurora seemed to screamed moments after and Zach eyes slowly turned.

It was grey.

He was the closes onte to the blast, he's entire body was eviscerated, leaving only his huge Battle axe stuck in the snow.

Auroras calm demeanor finally broke revealing a true emotion.

Terror.
