Chapter 28 - 28. Aftermath

The only sound heard was the rustling of the wind.

On the plain of ice, hundreds of giant crab corpses laid dead on the floor, black blood spewed everywhere.

Eli wiped the blood off her face as she took out her blade from the underbelly of one of the crabs.

In the distance a crab the size of a freezer lay lifeless, weakly breathing.

Zach raised his sword next to it, finishing it off with one merciless swing.

[Congratulations!, You Have Killed The Fiend Sea Scavenger]

"That was quite the hassle".

Zach stepped out of the pile of corpses nonchalantly sliding his katana into its sheath.

He checked his stats.

Zach still doesn't know what these existence stones were used for.

But he also noticed something.

All his stats had increased.

'Is it because of the training in the internal world ..?' Zach pondered.

That would be a very reasonable reason why his stats increased.

Zach sighed.

The winds had reduced fortunately and what was left was the intense drizzling of snow.

"One day it's hot, the next it's cold.., I hate this weather.

Eli walked by his side, compared to him who only had a few smears of blood around him, Eli looked like she took a bath in monster blood.

She was covered head to toe with monster insides.

It was probably because of her destructive ability.

Unlike Zach's ability to strengthen his body, Eli's ability was an aerial attack that devastated her surroundings so it was quite expected.

"Ahh this is such a hassle.."

Zach wiped the blood off his sword looking forward.

Zach and Eli's watch rang at the same time.

[Congratulations!!! Your ranking has risen!!]

Zachariah - Rank 1 (Western Dragon Enterprise) - 29,072 points

Aurora Elixion - Rank 2 (Royal Pavilion) - 27,632 points

Eli Aragoth - Rank 3 (Western Dragon Enterprise) - 24,347 points.

[Your location has been exposed!!]

Zach was a little surprised.

"So killing monsters gives points too..huh " Zach looked around.

He was sure he had killed more than a hundred of those crabs, However his energy was very little to none, so he was certain if more trouble came he wouldn't be able to perform as good.

Also the system mentioned that his location was visible to other cadets that would be a certain issue later.

The wind had reduced drastically however the snow falling down from the ash skies was still numerous.

Zach waved his back hair allowing snow to fall off.

He sheathed his sword.

"Our best option now is to go for the fissure anchor.." Eli spoke.

Most of the contestants were there trying to challenge the gatekeeper to go to the outside world.

Or they were most likely battling each other for who would go through first.

But Eli was right.

He was already sick of this place.

Might as well go there.

The drizzling of the snow continued layering the crab corpses with a shade of white.

The sun wasn't visible and the ash skies were the only thing up above, stretching for miles.

"Excuse me..?"

Zach turned around to see a figure walking up to him in the distance.

Eli sat atop a monster's corpse a few meters away using a napkin she stored in her inventory to wipe off the blood and gore.

The figure got closer, a girl, whose beauty could make nations battle, her silver hair was pristine catching the light as they flowed down her pale glistening skin.

Zach stared at her, perplexed.

Her ruby eyes looked around to Eli's figure in the distance before settling on him once again.

Her figure was slender, as if carved by divine hands.

Unlike Eli that carried a cold and silent aura, her aura radiated timelessness and mystique.

"I need your help with something"

"What..?". Zach blinked.

She needs his help with something?.

Zach stared for a bit, he glanced at Eli, and his gaze returned to the beauty in front of him.

"She needs my help, I should help her. Wait!, could this be a trap" Zach panicked.

Then a figure materialized out of thin air behind her, a tall muscular man, towering above Zach, walked up to both of them.

Zach was at a considerable distance away from the beauty so any sudden attacks and he could dodge in time.

But he really hoped it wouldn't come to that.

The brute stopped behind her looking at Zach with a scorn on his face.

"Bro... Do I owe you something..?" Zach raised a brow.

Indeed the brute behind her glanced at Zach like he owed him money, face all serious and all.

"I just don't find pleasure in mingling with people far below me.."

He scoffed at Zach.

"Arrogant huh.." Zach smirked.

Eli in the distance stood up looking at the duo with suspicion.

"Oh hi.." the beauty presented her palm for a handshake.

"What do you want..?" Eli spoke coldly, glancing back and forth at the giant axe the brute held in his hand.

"You guys have created quite the hassle.." she smiled, retracting her hand.

"Do you know what makes you..?"

"A target..?'. Zach questioned.

"Exactly", she paused.

"But honestly it's a shame.." her aura turned deadly.

A crooked smile escaped her lips as a black spear materialized in front of her.

"Too bad you're more useful dead than you are alive".

Her bloodlust skyrocketed.

Zach and Eli both drew their blades at the same time.

Zach gritted his teeth.

"You don't want to fight us.." he muttered.

Zach's Magic power was almost depleted but now he'd had to fight another one of them.

'Her aura is similar to the Witcher' he thought.

The burly man behind her glanced at Eli.

"You're from the Aragoth clan aren't you"

He walked forward, raising his axe.

"I've heard those guys are monsters".

He pointed the huge weapon at her.

"I hope you will be too".

Eli smirked, stood straight, and got into her stance.

"Don't worry, I'm more than capable of handling you"
