A smirk played on Nanako's lips, her eyes gleaming with interest. She was eager to see what Kaito Ren was truly capable of.

"Hi~"
As Kaito Ren was racking his brain for an excuse, Mosquito Girl approached, offering a sweet smile and taking a spot beside him.
"What are you doing here?"
Kaito Ren was surprised. He thought she'd gone home.
"Kaito Ren, who is she?!"
Asaka Hanako, seeing a stranger so close and familiar with Kaito Ren, was instantly jealous, her lips pouting.
"Ah, she…"
Kaito Ren frowned, looking at Mosquito Girl, awkwardly realizing he didn't even know her name.
"Hello, my name is Kodo Haru, but you can call me Haru. I'm Kaito Ren's girlfriend."
Haru extended her hand, smiling brightly, introducing herself to Asaka Hanako and the others.
"What?!"
Not only Asaka Hanako, but Hellish Blizzard and Saitama were stunned. Even Kaito Ren was speechless. When had this happened? He had no idea!
"Kaito Ren, what's going on?!"
Asaka Hanako's eyes welled up, looking sadly at Kaito Ren. Hellish Blizzard, though silent, showed disappointment and anger.
"No, listen, there's nothing going on between us."
Kaito Ren was at a loss for words.
"Why are you so worked up? I'm Kaito Ren's girlfriend, and I can be your girlfriend too."
Haru looked at them, confused by the sudden awkwardness.
"What?! Are you serious?! You're Kaito Ren's girlfriend and you're with others?! How could you do this to Kaito Ren?!"
Asaka Hanako was furious, almost scolding Haru.
"Oh, I understand," Haru chuckled, explaining, "You misunderstood. 'Girlfriend' in my hometown means female friend, not romantic partner. I apologize for the misunderstanding."
Haru apologized to Asaka Hanako, Hellish Blizzard, and Kaito Ren.
"Whew," Kaito Ren breathed a sigh of relief. He'd been worried about Haru's—or rather, Kodo Haru's—hometown customs.
"Hee hee, that's good. You're Kaito Ren's friend! Why didn't he mention you?"
Asaka Hanako, her tears gone, smiled and linked arms with Haru.
"Probably didn't get around to it; we only recently met."
Haru shrugged.
"What are you doing here?"
Kaito Ren asked again.
"I was bored at home, so I looked for something to do. I heard they were hiring here, with free food, lodging, and pay, so I came to try."
Haru smiled.
Kaito Ren raised an eyebrow. Something felt off, but with so many people around, he decided to ask later.
Haru's identity was unusual; he didn't want to risk her suddenly unleashing a swarm of mosquitoes.
It was soon lunchtime. The instructors, seeing that Nanako hadn't returned, dismissed the students for lunch, postponing the rest of the tests.
For Kaito Ren, Saitama, Asaka Hanako, and Hellish Blizzard, who had already passed, the remaining tests were irrelevant.
Asaka Hanako's victory had been simple and brutal: she'd used money to make her opponent surrender. Seeing the hundreds of thousands of yen, the other students were envious.
The group headed to the cafeteria. Genos was going to analyze Kaito Ren's fighting style, while Zombieman, needing no food, planned to find monsters in the nearby forest to improve his strength. Kaito Ren was relieved they were leaving.
"You're quite popular!"
Haru slowed her pace, walking beside Kaito Ren and Saitama, glancing at Asaka Hanako and Hellish Blizzard.
"What do you mean?"
Kaito Ren raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing."
Haru shook her head, refusing to elaborate. Kaito Ren didn't press further. He had something else to confirm.
"Your reason for coming here isn't that simple, is it? Tell me, what's your real purpose?"
Kaito Ren's smile faded, his expression serious.
"You know my situation. While I can consume normal food, it's not very effective. Blood is best. This location is close to the forest, and there are no restrictions, making it convenient for me."
Haru revealed her intentions without hesitation; Kaito Ren had saved her life, so this was nothing.
Kaito Ren relaxed. He'd been overthinking. Haru, due to his intervention, was no longer Mosquito Girl.
"Did you hear? Kaito Ren defeated Kato In by cheating! Otherwise, he couldn't have won!"
"That's right! I heard Kato In was distracted by a mosquito!"
