"I think this blue gown would look good on you, or why don't I send a message to the king of wood and ask him what he would be putting on for the coronation.
It would be so lovely if both of you put on the same color."
Lillian said with a sweet tone, demonstrating that she was trying to make Sofia feel at home. She faced Sofia with the dress
"Isn't this dress just so wonderful!"
Lillian said with her cheeks covering her eyes, thus she didn't see the deadly look on Sofia's face.
"What time is it?"
Sofia sounded in a cold tone. Lillian was surprised by Sofia's tone.
"My princess"
Lillian wanted to say something sweet again when Sofia cut her off before her lips could start moving.
"What time is it now!"
Sofia said as she walked to the door. She closed the door and faced Lillian back. She didn't see the need for weeping anymore, she was here now, and she must take control of her life.
She would not let it play out as the novel did.
Never!
Lillian's smiling face vanished at that moment. She had never witnessed this side of Sofia before so she was afraid.
"1pm my princess."
Lillian bowed her head slightly as she said the words. Sofia eyebrows pushed down a little when she heard Lillian's words. She walked around the room with her fingers covering her mouth. It was afternoon already. The Royal highness must've already given the order.
The little bastard didn't want anybody to leave the moment they came, so he gave orders to the guards at the gate not to let anyone leave.
That order was given at exactly 12pm. She hadn't been up and running here for an hour, so she can't blame herself for wasting so much in panicking on what had already been deemed to be so.
Sofia's breath increased at that moment but she slowly tried to calm down as she thought of the next way forward.
"Is everything alright, my princess."
Lillian calmly voiced out, slightly confused though. Sofia walked around the room again before she finally faced the clothes on the bed.
"I don't want any of them. Take them away."
Lillian was stunned by Sofia taking on the clothes.
"My princess, you can't just...."
"Take them away Lillian, I am not putting any of these goddamn clothes!!"
Sofia's voice was loud and it somehow vibrated the entire room, more like it caused Lillian to tremble in fear.
"Yes my princess."
Lillian quickly packed the clothes on the bed.
"What then would the princess wear for the coronation?"
Lillian asked when she was done packing the clothes.
"I don't know. I will tell you when I come up with something."
Sofia said as she was starting to feel cold. Lillian restricted herself from saying anymore words. She bowed her head and turned to the doorway. As she approached the doorway, Sofia voiced out.
"I am fine Lillian."
She didn't want this moment to ruin her relationship with Lillian. Lillian was somebody she needed close in this journey.
"I am just tired and frustrated. You know I don't like the soon to be king. I hate to be in his presence for anything."
Lillian regained herself back at that moment.
"My princess, everything would be fine, it's just a one day thing. You will be out of here before you even know it. Remember, you have your wedding to plan with King James, so you have a better excuse to leave this place even tomorrow once the coronation is done."
Sofia looked into Lillian's eyes, if only Lillian knew what was going to happen tomorrow, perhaps she would understand why she couldn't sit properly anymore.
"I will call you when I need anything."
Sofia calmly said. Lillian bowed again but this time, she lowered her head more, a sign of full respect before she turned to leave again.
As Lillian reached the door. Sofia voiced out again.
"Lillian..."
Sofia struggled with the words before voicing them out.
"What is it, my princess.."
Lillian turned to face Sofia once more. Sofia was silent for a while before she stated the words clearly.
"Can you get me the uniform of a royal maid? Just one, and don't ask me why."
Lillian's expression says it all that she was dumbstruck by Sofia's order.
"My princess, you are a princess. You can't be seen putting on a maids uniform . It would turn your kingdom into a laughingstock, even if we beautify it to the highest degree, it still would be recognized as a maids uniform."
Lillian approached Sofia again.
"I know you want to impress the king of the wood, but trust me, that man is already madly in love with you. I can see it in my eyes. You don't need to try to get on his good side anymore, and meanwhile, he agreed to the marriage when your late father proposed it, do you think he did it out of respect. Given his personality, I don't think so, I don't think so at all!"
Sofia shook her head. She never thought Lillian could be this much of a talkative. She was in the book, but now, she was on an entirely different scale, more like the author was limiting her in the book.
That goddamn Author!
"I don't want to put on a maid uniform for the coronation. Why would I even do that? Now, get me one of the Royal maid uniforms immediately, and say no more words again."
Lillian gave Sofia a nod and wanted to say something but Sofia raised her right hand.
"That was an order just now."
Lillian nodded repeatedly before turning away to leave.
The moment Lillian shut the door, Sofia immediately collapsed to the bed. Her legs couldn't hold her body anymore, she was still afraid and that was normal given she haven't done anything to diversify the future she was heading into.
Sofia sat upright on the bed. Since the guards wouldn't let her leave, there was only one way out for her, and that was to do the abomination.
The Royal highness wouldn't be able to marry her anymore if she does that, which was perfect, but she wondered if James would agree.
