Could it be?
Sofia's heart beat stopped at that moment. She couldn't comprehend the thought, but it all seemed to be the case. The comics of The Barbarian's Lullaby were coming out soon, and this was exactly how lady Emma looked like in the comics photos that were released to the public. Exactly how she was currently looking.
Without muttering a single word to the girl that had rushed into the room, Sofia turned to face the mirror once more, with her heart racing like the leading car in a formula one race.
'No it can't be!'
'No it can't be!'
'Please God, let it not be true!'
Sofia was reciting these words in her head as she turned to face the mirror again. She froze on the spot when she fully looked at herself in the mirror.
It was true. It was goddamn true.
She had transmigrated into the novel that caused her death.
The Barbarian Lullaby!
She was in the body of Princess Emma Porter, the fiancée of the barbarian or so it was until... Sofia suddenly fell to the ground at that moment.
"My princess!"
The girl that just entered threw the clothes she was holding on the floor and rushed to Sofia rescue. Sofia was feeling a sharp pain in her head and she was recovering all the memories of princess Emma, memories she knew of already, but this time in a more emotional way.
Sofia started crying when the pain stopped. Not because of the past memories she just experienced but for what was going to happen in the future.
She couldn't believe that she had truly transmigrated into a novel.
How could this be possible!
She was supposed to be in heaven by now.
'How could God do such a thing to me!'
Sofia burst into tears in her head.
She had read a couple of transmigrated books and she never thought it could be real, and out of all the books she had read, that she could've transmigrated into, it had to be this one.
The worst of them all!
God was truly against her, if not why would he bring her here, or was this hell?
Was this the real ideology behind hell? The eternal suffering for sinners.
When did she ever sin!
Sofia was quivering in her spot now.
"My princess, are you okay?"
The girl from earlier said as she wrapped Sofia in her embrace.
"Am fine."
Sofia finally said after a few minutes of silence. She was trying to take everything in, it was difficult but being silent would only cause more problems.
"I am fine Lillian. You can let me go now."
Sofia said as she looked at Lillian. Lillian was the same as the photo released in the comic, even more realistic than the one in the comic, well that was because she was real now.
She was alive.
"You can let go of me now."
Sofia said again as Lillian didn't respond to her command from earlier. Lillian let go of Sofia at that moment.
"I am sorry my princess. I didn't leave you alone, I was sent for that your clothes for the coronation have arrived, if not I wouldn't have left the doorpost."
Sofia gave Lillian a small nod as she slowly stood up to her feet.
"Don't worry, Lillian, I am fine. I was having some...."
Sofia stopped talking at that moment as she recalled what Lillian had just said.
"What coronation are you talking about?"
Sofia looked at Lillian with widely opened eyes and her heart beat was slow.
Lillian voiced out as she stood up to her feet.
"The Royal highness coronation, I know you didn't want to come nor attend the event but it's compulsory for all the Princes and princesses under the Royal cabinet, and you my princess is the princess of charms.
Once you get married to the king of the wood, you will still be the princess of charms."
Lillian stood up fully and faced Sofia, she placed her hands on Sofia's shoulder and continued.
"Even if you get married to the king of the wood, you will still be under the Royal cabinet, so there is no escaping this coronation."
Lillian gently tapped Sofia on her shoulder and looked into Sofia's eyes.
"Meanwhile, I heard King James has arrived for the coronation. I bet he will send you some gifts a moment from now. I will be right in the door to receive the presents for you."
Lillian gave Sofia a big smile before approaching the clothes she threw on the floor earlier. As she picked up the clothes, Sofia wanted to say something but she couldn't voice the words out.
She was dumbfounded, confused and speechless.
Lillian's words about the coronation felt like heavy bricks landing on her shoulders and the weight was weighing her down now.
She not only got transmigrated into the novel, she was currently at the most deciding part in the entire book.
The coronation day!
Sofia couldn't believe her senses that this was the part in the novel she found herself. She finally concluded that she was sent to hell.
This was hell for sure.
Sofia's heart started pounding once more. On the coronation day, the royal highness would propose to her, disregarding the fact that she was engaged to James, all because James and his forefathers were slaves to the Royal family before.
James as a young child served under the Royal family just like his ancestors, however, the great war of Brookstone came and not a single army of the king could stand in the presence of the enemies.
The nation was reaching the point of surrendering to the enemy nation when James led a group of slaves into the battlefield and they turned the table around. James single-handedly went into the enemy nation and slaughtered the head of their king, and all the people under his cabinet. He brought the heads back home for the Royal highness as a trophy.
The late king was so pleased with James' formidable bravery that he abolished the use of slavery in the entire nation of crimson sunset. He made James a free man and gave James a kingdom to rule over as a king. Unlike the rest kingdom under Crimson Sunset that the title of kings and queens were forbidden for the rulers, James was titled king in his own kingdom, though he was still under the Royal cabinet just like every other kingdom, but he doesn't pay taxes to the Royal highness, and he doesn't enjoy any special benefits from the Royal highness as well.
James Kingdom was more like separated from Crimson Sunset, but he was still under the Royal highness.
The soon to be king, William Ashton didn't like what his late father did about slavery and wanted to restore it back to how it was from the beginning, even worse than the beginning so he started with James.
The entity for those that once served as slaves.
That bastard abused his authority in getting married to her. James did nothing out of respect for the king, but he didn't know the pain she went through from the first day of the marriage.
She was raped everyday, and when she found a way to fight back, she was flogged merciless, and later stripped naked on the general market square. On the fourteen day after being chained there naked, she was hanged to death for crimes she knew nothing of.
Mere thinking about the pain princess Emma went through before her death caused Sofia to break down inside.
The pain was too much, too much to bear, and tomorrow was the coronation.
If she marries the king tomorrow, princess Emma's fate would become her fate.
