When David fell asleep on the statue's hand, a whole day passed. As he woke up, he looked down from the cliff.
David was stunned — the statue was massive, nearly 200 meters tall.
Looking up, he saw the sun still shining brightly overhead.
He picked up a stone and threw it down. It hit the ground, but nothing happened.
Realizing it was safe, David carefully began to descend. Once he reached the bottom, he started exploring the area.
Looking around slowly, he noticed something odd — the plants around him seemed slightly bent. Frowning at this strange sight, he walked on, thinking to himself:
"I need to head back before it gets dark."
As he wandered deeper, he spotted an abandoned temple in the distance.
Surprised, he looked up — the sun was beginning to set. Turning quickly, he sprinted back toward the statue.
Along the way, he noticed something disturbing — the bent plants had now straightened up as the sun disappeared.
Realizing the danger, David rushed back up the statue and climbed into its hand again.
"Damn... I'm starving and dehydrated. Where can I find anything in a place like this?"
He glanced around. "These plants are strange... Maybe if I—"
He threw another stone down. But before it could hit the ground, a plant-like vine lashed out and crushed it in midair — from over three meters away.
Seeing this, David laid his head on the statue's hand and stared up at the sky.
"Alright… now I get it."
He fell asleep again and woke up early the next morning.
The sun had just begun to rise. As the first rays hit the land, David started climbing down.
"I have about five hours before sunset. I need to hurry."
He ran straight toward the temple.
When he got there, it looked ancient, covered in moss. Inside, a man was kneeling — praying.
David cautiously approached, step by step. When he finally touched the man's shoulder, the figure crumbled into dust right before his eyes.
Startled, David pulled his hand back and waited for what would happen next.
Then he noticed it — where the monk had been staring, a sword now lay.
It was beautiful — a long, sharp blade about a meter in length, with a small, elegant hilt.
David picked it up — and the sword instantly turned black.
"Well… at least I have a weapon now. But what am I supposed to do with it? I don't even know how to use a sword. Where's the scabbard?"
Spotting a sheath nearby, he grabbed it and slid the blade inside.
He stepped back outside — the sun still shining brightly overhead.
David set off in search of animals.
After about thirty minutes, he found a white rabbit. Moving quickly, he grabbed it by the ears.
But as he turned it around — it wasn't an ordinary rabbit.
Its face froze him in horror.
A demon.
Without hesitation, David stabbed it through with his sword.
He then searched for a pond. Upon finding one, he filled a flask with water.
Looking to the right, he saw something alarming — plants trying to cross the water were rotting away.
Understanding what that meant, David turned back toward the statue. The sun was already starting to dip.
He gathered some firewood along the way and climbed up.
As the sun set, David lit a fire, roasted the demonic rabbit, and sat, deep in thought.
"If there's an ocean to the south... then that could really help me. Those things can't cross open water."
After eating and drinking, David finally closed his eyes — and slept.
