"Will you marry me?" These were the words that changed her life forever. Lillian never thought she would hear it after one impulsive decision.

After getting cheated on by the ones she loved and trusted the most, Lillian had never been the same again. 

Dating became a thing of the past and she focused solely on her career. 

Lillian worked like crazy to achieve her goals, but it eventually popped up that there was something missing in her life. She had not been in a relationship for too long, and when she finally decided to get out of her shell, as if it was a fateful encounter, she met him: Leonard, a bachelor who suddenly asked for marriage after one night together. He even offered a staggering deal when she refused his proposal.

Lillian just met him but she felt like they clicked well in their conversations.

After everything she had been through, Lillian became a very careful woman with trust issues and had never done anything crazy and unaccounted for in her life.  But she realized she was bored with her current life and was unknowingly longing for a major unexpected change.

As if something was pushing her, she accepted his proposal. She wanted to do something crazy and dangerous for a change. 

All of a sudden, she gained a husband. And yet, just as soon as they met, he vanished without a trace, and the next thing she heard of him was in the news.

“Mr. Leonard is dead!”

Lillian dropped the book she was reading as she heard the news. That was her husband’s name!

There’s a ton of people with the same name, but the face on the screen was truly her husband's!

She learned he was a multibillionaire. But now, he was dead, and Lillian was his wife.

"Right... I'll take this call then," Leo said, albeit begrudgingly.


Lillian tapped his arm around her waist so she could get out of his lap, but Leo shook his head.


"No, you'll stay right here," Leo said, and tightened his hold on her instead.


"But, I'll be able to hear your call. Is that alright?" Lillian inquired.


She knew there may be things she shouldn't listen to, especially if it was about business matters.


"Yes. Only a few people know about this number anyway," Leo said.


"Alright then," Lillian said, a bit glad that Leo didn't mind her listening to his call.


Leo cupped her face and gave her one long and intense kiss before he finally picked up his phone, which he had settled on the couch.


Lillian was left hanging and blushing as she felt Leo's intense longing and held back desire.


She realized he had been holding back the past few days, probably because of the slap and strong rejection he received from her last time.
