When her voice broke through, Rainer snapped back to reality, his brows slightly furrowed, and his usually calm and reserved demeanor shifted to a hint of unease.
Turning to Willow, he pressed his lips together tightly and asked softly. "Willow, why did you kiss me earlier?"
Willow's face flushed as she turned, nervous, trying to explain, "Uh,... Felix won't believe I'm really married. I wanted him to stop bothering me. So I kissed you."
She paused for a moment, then looked at Rainer with a softer expression. "Please, don't misunderstand. If it bothers you, I promise I won't do it again."
Willow quickly stopped talking, worried Rainer might be angry.
She kissed him spontaneously without warning.
If Rainer were a man with strong and firm personal boundaries, he might be upset by her actions.
Nevertheless, she felt a little relieved that Rainer had come so quickly. She didn't want to ruin the delicate bond they were beginning to build because of herself.
