"For crying out loud, how the hell did you managed to lose it?" – asked an angry girl while a boy was digging through the snow.
"Look! I'm sorry!" – said the young boy.
"But how am I not supposed to know I would lose the necklace that you gave me, AND that the snowstorm would hit right after?!"
"NO! If anything, I'm not at fault here at all! Because I've told you time and time again, I shouldn't be bringing this thing around, but you insisted on me having it on me, ALL THE TIME!"
"!"
"Well, if you just-"
Suddenly, something came from above the girl, crushing her down, alarming the boy as he turned around.
"!?"
"H-help!" – said the girl as she was getting crushed beneath the dirt golem's arm.
"!?"
"LET HER….Go….." – said the young boy as he drew his blade, but then he instantly realized that he was surrounded by a group of the fake dungeon master body doubles, as well as other puppet monsters that were accompanying by the dirt golems.
The boy tried to fight back…. But in the end, he and his girlfriend have both died.
But it wasn't just them.
Monsters, animals, and humans.
All of them were being hunted down by the golems and puppets.
Why?
Because the dungeon master wanted miasma.
5 months.
For over 5 months, the dungeon master had been creating monsters in secret in order to have them produce miasma, and even when they managed to fully manifest, these monsters were no living beings, they didn't required food or anything. They were just puppets. A puppet that didn't need to eat or had free will.
A puppets that would follow a direct command from their creator, the dungeon master.
After being attacked twice in the fake dungeon master room, the dungeon master realized that there was no longer hope in hiding…. And so it chose to go on the offensive this time.
It caused the dungeon break.
It ordered its puppets and golems to hunt and bring the dungeon sacrifices, to give the dungeon miasma, so it could expand and create more monsters.
As for the dungeon master?
It just continued its golem core research as if nothing was going on.
However for the beings outside the dungeon? It was a nightmare.
An army of the golems and puppets started attacking everything, leaving no survivors at all.
Before the dungeon master only used two puppets.
Wooden Mannequin – Danger rank: F
Human Mannequin – Danger rank: F+
And these puppets are after being upgraded, the original versions were G and G+ rank respectively.
However, when it comes to the strength, the G rank monsters are usually referred to as "pest" monsters that pretty much anybody, even a child or an old farmer, can easily get rid off.
And the F rank? Well, they are also weak monsters, around as strong as G rank, their difference in strength is not big at all.
However, the F rank monsters are considered as the monsters that can "harm" somebody, but even so, a lot of F rank monsters can still be dealt with by anybody.
Now, what about E rank monsters?
E rank monsters are the monsters that ARE consider as real threat, even though they are consider as the weakest monsters still and their difference in power between F rank monsters is also not that big.
However, E rank monsters are the monsters that can "Kill" on their own, unlike F rank monsters that can harm or injure people. Starting from E rank, these kinds of monsters are not something that an average person can deal with on their own.
Now, what monsters have the dungeon master released into the world?
E rank – Big Dirt Golems – Big and slow, but have deadly attacks, however the body is just made out of dirt.
E rank – Long Armed Puppet – The fake dungeon master body double – Has long reach and somewhat higher attack than a normal human mannequin. All rounder type that does not specialize in anything when it comes to stats.
E rank – Savage Puppet – A puppet monster with a big thicker body, giving it more defense and also giving it a set of sharp claws made out of wood that are also equipped with the shards of sharp metal from the sword, giving it a little blade on each end of the puppet fingers.
E rank monsters.
E rank monsters had flooded out of the dungeon.
This forest already had an E rank monsters…. But here is a problem.
The weather had weakened some of the monsters, since food and cold problems…. But the golems? They didn't cared at all.
They didn't get tired, they didn't cared if they were frozen from the cold, they didn't cared if they got injured or even when they lost a limb or two.
They only cared about doing their job and nothing else.
….
And so the puppet marched and destroyed everything they found,
Some E rank monster tried fighting back, but they were getting overwhelmed by the puppets, resulting in the puppet killing and dragging back their corpse to the dungeon.
There were also some adventurers in the forest at the time, and they had an unfortunate run in with the puppet.
Some managed to run away, since the puppets weren't good at running at high-speed chases.
But some people were….. Unlucky, to say the least.
[Meanwhile: Adventurer guild.]
"This is not a drill or anything like that!" – shouted a guild master.
"This is an urgent notice!"
"A puppet dungeon that we had thought was conquered and tamed had shown signs of unusual activities!"
"The dungeon maybe an the verge of the sudden break, and so an special order have been issued."
"Look for any adventurers in the forest and area near it and order them to evacuate immediately."
"Upon confirming that everybody has been evacuated, a special quest will be created that aims to eradicate every single puppet monster in the forest!"
"Do you understand?! You are ordered to spread the word while also trying to find any people in or near the forest that have not evacuated yet!"
(Dammit! 3 out of 6 E rank adventurers had died, 3!) – thought the guild master.
(Even if they were ambushed, for the 3 E rank members to just die like that….. There is no mistaking it, the dungeon rank is either E or E+.)
(And if that dungeon is really at the breaking point…. Then we could be in lot of trouble.)
(…)
(The mayor can't be trusted, but the town guard captain should have already sent some people to reach the nearest adventurer guild…. However the roads should be still covered in snow, so I doubt we would get reinforcements any time soon.)
(Still, I'm confused…. If the dungeon was much bigger than we had expected, then how there was no monster manifestation accidents yet?)
(….)
(I don't like this….. Still, we lack any informations at all…. So the best we can do is first gather informations and see what the hell is going on.)
As soon as the sudden emergency call was over, both the guild and the town guards took actions in order to deal with an possible dungeon break…. However, unbeknownst to them, the dungeon break had already occurred.
And it wouldn't take them too long to find out about the dungeon break that had occurred from one of the adventurers who had ran away from the forest.
(IT HAD ALREADY OCCURRED?! NOW?!) – thought surprised guild master upon hearing the news from one injured adventurer.
(Did we by any chance triggered the dungeon break by trying to investigate the dungeon...Wait…. Dungeon master!? Was it the dungeon master doing?!)
(What I know, the dungeon masters rule and control the dungeon….. But then again, it shouldn't be possible.)
(The manifested monsters have a "real body", meaning that they need to eat and sleep from now on, so why…..Oh shit…. They are golems.)
(According to the books, golems are non-living beings, just like undeads…. But something is still not adding up!)
(From what I know, the young dungeon masters are not developed at all, pretty much they are dumb…. So does that mean that somebody is really related to….. Dammit! There is too much stuff going on!)
(Still, this is the worst.)
(If that dungeon can really produce monsters with E rank danger rank….. Then this dungeon break could possibly threaten the existence of this whole town.)
