(Miasma…. Is gathering at a good pace.) – thought the dungeon master who observed as its monsters were bringing in the sacrifices to the dungeon, providing the dungeon with the miasma, which was then to start the monster production, filling out some space in the dungeon.
The puppet monsters' rampage was still not stopped, causing chaos to erupt in the entire forest.
As for the adventurer guild? They focused on rescuing any people in or near the forest they could find.
However, after making sure that everybody was rescued, the town went on the offensive.
The guards and the adventurers joined forces before then starting to hunt any golems that were located at the outskirts of the forest.
At first, there were some problems because of the current weather conditions, but overall, there were no losses on the town sides, while on the dungeon side, some of the golems were already getting destroyed.
However, this was noticed by the dungeon master, who noticed that fewer sacrifices were being brought in, causing the dungeon master to realize that something out there is destroying its golems.
(Harvest will not work properly…. Need to issue a new order.)
A new order was given to the golems.
Focus on dealing with the ones that attacking the golems first.
And with that, a war between golems and the town had truly started.
The dungeon master golems were still simple and couldn't follow any complicated commands…. So, it only command was this.
"Harvest. If somebody attacks or resistance is met, all at once attack."
A simple command, but an effective one, which was obviously also noticed by the town side as they started noticing more and more injured adventurers and guards going back to the town to recover.
(Their movement had changed?! How?!) – though the confused guild master.
(…. Can the dungeon master directly control their actions from the dungeon?! What the hell is going on?)
Well…. No. The guild master was wrong.
They attacked the puppets, they provoked them and they gave chase. That was the situation.
Dungeon can't control them as precisely as before, since they are no longer dungeon monsters, nor it can see what the puppets were seeing…. So, it was just all in the guild master's head.
However, he couldn't deny the fact that the situation had changed, since more and more people were starting to get injured.
Which ended up causing another meeting to quickly occur.
"Okay. So here is what we know." – said the guild master.
"There are 3 new golem monsters that we haven't seen before."
"First are the big golems made out of dirt."
"The second ones are the long limbed ones, which we thought they were originally an dungeon master."
"And finally, some thick, wooded puppet with sharp fingers that have some weird metallic blade in place of nails."
"The estimated rank for all of these monsters are E ranks."
"By the looks of things they don't possess anything like a form of a leader or intelligence, they are probably following just some orders."
"A single golem isn't dangerous at all, but the problem is when multiple come at you at once."
"However, out of all the golems, we should look out for the dirt golems."
"Why is that?" – asked the town guard captain.
"Because of their destructive power." – replied the guild master.
"Despite having their body made out of just regular dirt, it does still pack some punch…. And it's the scary part since it can do some destruction."
"We can't let those kinds of golems get near the town, or they could damage the walls…. And this is something we don't want at any cost."
"Hm…. Agree." – said the guard.
"With the current weather conditions, any form of repair may end up too long to finish….."
*Sigh*
"…"
"The situation is more annoying than we had thought."
"These so called golems are not bothered at all when they lose a limb or two….. You said that the method to destroy them was to either destroy their cores or damage their body enough to make them shut down, yes?"
"Yes, that is the only way to destroy the golems. The adventures that had hunted the said golems so far could also confirm it." – said the guild master.
"Still, it is better if we get some support, since we don't know how many monsters are out here, nor do we know the truth about the golem dungeon."
"…."
"Are you thinking about exterminating the dungeon?" – asked the mayor.
"The answer is instant. NO!"
"WE can't lose our source of income!"
"And that very same dungeon is the dungeon that killed your god damned stupid son!" – said the annoyed guild master, shutting up the mayor, who then got stared by everybody in the room.
"…"
"I honestly don't want to destroy the golem dungeon either."
"The mana crystal we can obtain from that place ARE valuable."
"However, something weird is going on in that dungeon and we don't know what."
"Depending on how things goes, it may result in us having no choice but to destroy the dungeon."
"However, we don't know how dangerous the dungeon master currently is."
"…"
"…"
"We should focus on the defense instead of the offence if what you said is true." – said the guard captain.
"Right now, we need to make absolutely sure that none of the golems gets near the town, especially the dirt golems."
"If they get near the town walls and damage them…. Then things could end up ugly."
"Yes…. That is a good approach…. But there is problem." – said the guild master.
"According to the scouts, the golems are not only hunting us."
"They are also hunting other monsters."
"I don't know why they are doing this…. But there are a few theories."
"One is that they are trying to gain offerings to the dungeon in order to feed it."
"The other is that these golems are just set to attack anything on sight."
"If this is the first option…. Then we have no choice but to attack the golems."
"However….. The forest will soon awaken."
"?"
"Awaken?" – asked the confused mayor.
"Yea." – replied the worried guild master.
"One of the problems that the dungeon breaks causes is the direct attacks on the ecosystems in the area."
"It could cause monsters and animals to get worried, scared, alarmed…. Or furious."
"Some of these things could result in the monsters trying to run away from the invaders, A.K.A dungeon monsters…. Or they could become territorial, causing the monsters to go berserk in order to deal with the invaders."
"This could cause a chain reaction, forcing other monsters to act or maybe also piss them off…. And let me tell you straight. Those kinds off pissed of monsters? They are dangerous to everything and everyone near them."
"And most importantly….. Income."
"Our town's main source of income ARE monsters and farms!"
"The forest and area near it isn't something too big of a territory…. But it is not small either. It is medium sized. A perfect size for our small, weak town."
"We are not doing a complete extermination of the monsters in order to have some profit."
"However, because of the dungeon break, the profit in question could be put at stake…."
"And right now we can't really farm…. So, we need monsters."
"…"
"Wait. So, we need to deal with the golems NOW!" – shouted the mayor.
"YES! And that is the problem!" – said the guild master.
"The longer the dungeon situation is unstable, the more damage it will cause and the longer it will take for us to recover!"
"But we lack informations! And we also need to make sure that none of the dirt golems gets near the walls of the town or else it could end up ugly!"
"But we straight up don't have strong enough adventures to deal with all of these problems all at once, since there are not many E rank adventurers left in here in the first place!"
"…"
"Honestly speaking…. Our situation is bit "FUCKED" ….. If you know what I mean."
