Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 – Dungeon exposed.

[Adventurer guild.]

"…"

 "!"

"Welcome." – said the female staff as she noticed a group of people entering the building.

*Huff* *Huff*

 "?"

"Is everything alright?" – asked a worried staff member as she realized that the group of people that just entered were covered from head to toes in sweat and were having trouble breathing.

"C-call…. Call the guild master…. NOW!" – said the man with the backpack.

"It's an emergency!"

 "The dungeon! Dungeon!"

 "…"

"What is going on?" – asked the guild master, who was nearby and noticed the commotion.

"!"

"Wait, what are you guys doing here!?"

"!?"

 "Wait, where are the others?!"

"Dungeon! They are dead! All of them!" – said the man with brown hair as he gotten up after catching his breath.

"That dungeon! It was never an F+ rank dungeon at all!"

"!"

"Calm down! What the hell are you talking about?" – asked the guild master.

"EXACTLY WHAT I JUST SAID! THAT DUNGEON WAS NEVER AN F+ RANK DUNGEON! WE WERE ALL FOOLED FROM THE START!" – shouted the panicking man with brown hair.

"…"

(Just what the hell is going on?)

After escaping the dungeon, the trio of the adventures, alongside the guard that was guarding the dungeon entrance had ran back towards the city in fear an panic through the snow, before then finally arriving at their destination and informing mayor as well as the guild master about the situation, with in turn caused the two to hold an emergency meeting.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! THE DUNGEON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN F+ RANK DUNGEON! BUT IT IS NOT?!" – shouted the furious mayor.

"What the hell is going on?!"

"I DON'T KNOW!" – shouted back the guild master.

"I really don't know!"

"There were no accidents whatsoever with the dungeon! There was not even a single dungeon break or even a single monster that manifested and escaped the dungeon."

"The dungeon shouldn't have any physical way of growing at all!"

"If we had miscategorized the dungeon rank, then we would have had trouble ages ago! But there was nothing at all!"

"WELL! YOU DEFINITELY HAD MISCATEGORIZED THAT DUNGEON!" – shouted the furious mayor.

"WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY AND STOP POINTING BLAME AT ME! OKAY?!" – shouted back the guild master.

"I would accept the fucking blame if I knew I did something wrong, but I don't know what the hell is going on?!"

"You can find out how much to blame I'm later on, but right now we need to know what the hell is going on!"

The guild master began explaining his whole theory about the murder and how he could be hiding in the dungeon, alongside him exposing his hidden mission that he had issued in secret.

"…. And that is pretty much it. I've sent these guys to inspect the dungeon just in case the murderer was hiding inside of it….. But I was definitely not expecting THAT!"

"What the hell happened?! Did you get attacked as soon as you entered the dungeon? Or were you ambushed by the murderer?"

"No…. We don't know what had happened." – said the man with the backpack.

"We went with our plan, with one group halting the dungeon master's movements, while the other tried to rush towards the core room."

"However, as soon as they left the dungeon master room, the walls of the room started shaking, before then turning into an army of golems made out of dirt."

"It was a trap from the start." – said the man with brown hair.

"I honestly don't even believe that the dungeon master we saw was a real one as well…. From the very beginning, this thing was a trap."

"Us 3 were in the middle of the room and we did somehow managed to break through the enemy line of defense when they tried to block off the exit….. But the other 3….. They were all across the room and for them…. It was too late; there was just way too many monsters."

"We had no way of saving them….. We ran away."

"They were definitely killed as soon as we left the dungeon."

 "…"

"Question. How many monsters did you encounter in that room?" – asked the town guard captain.

"…"

"We don't know, but…. There was definitely a lot…. Way more monsters than we had ever seen before in that dungeon." – said the man with a backpack.

"We also noticed some monster chasing the other group from behind, I've saw something like puppets, but with long fingers…. We never spotted those kinds of puppets before."

"…"

(What is going on?) – though a nervous guild master.

(Unknown monsters appearing inside the dungeon and in large quantities?)

(The dungeon WAS inspected by these guys.)

 (Did they missed it?)

 (…. No.)

(There is no way the mistake was on their part. These guys may had appeared lazy, but they are in reality a hard working bastards when it comes down to it.)

(So, what the hell had happened?!)

 (…. No….. 3 murderers wouldn't had been enough.)

(A theory with a lot of wild monsters getting killed in the dungeon or somebody bringing in people and just killing them there is straight up impossible, since pretty much every day, there were some people hunting monsters there.)

(If that is the case, then how has nobody had noticed the dungeon was expanding?)

 (No.)

(If the growth really had happened, then why was there no dungeon break at all?)

 "…"

 "Tch."

 (Forget it.)

(Right now, we need to deal with the current situation.)

 "…"

"This is just a guess…. But what if your theory about the murderer was incorrect? What if instead of murdered, the one that dealt with Arthur party case, Adam case and the mayor's son case was the dungeon itself, without any third party interference?" – suggested the guard captain.

"But that doesn't make any sense though?" – said the guild worker.

"If it was really just dungeon doing, then why were there no other casualties before the mayor's son's accident? It's just not adding up."

"We can worry about what makes sense and what does not, but right now, we have a bigger problem to deal with." – said the guild master.

"…"

"Right now, I'm assigning an E+ danger rank to the dungeon as well as announcing a possible dungeon break warning."

"And right now? I will also announce a recruitment notice, with even possible reaching the nearest adventures' guild for support."

"E-eh? W-what do you mean by "the support"!? Can't you deal with this on your own?!" – asked the scared mayor.

"I don't know! And that is the problem!" – said the guild master.

"The situation is too unknown and had caught off completely off guard."

"Right now? Our informations about the dungeon could be completely useless."

"We also don't know why the dungeon break had not occurred yet or anything….. But we also don't know how many monsters are in the dungeon and how long they were alive without us noticing their existence."

"We need to quickly prepare our forces and have them be big enough in order to exterminate every single monsters inside that dungeon, got it?"

The town of the newbie adventures, Rabbit Town, had realized how dangerous their current situation is and had decided to do something about it.

However, they were not the only ones taking action.

No.

Before their meeting, after slathering the three remaining adventurers, the dungeon master was already on the move.

(So, they do know….) – though the dungeon master while checking its body parts.

(I wasn't overthinking nor I wasn't worried for no reason.)

 (They are coming.)

(And they now wish to destroy me….)

(….)

(Or maybe they want something else?)

(Maybe they want to only hunt…. NO! This time it was different! It was also different compare to the attack from before!)

 (….)

(I can't be only on the defense…. I need more miasma.)

 (I need more monsters!)

 "…"

 (I need to hunt outside.)

(I need to secure more miasma, NOW! I need to hunt them before they recover. I need to hunt them to destroy them and secure the dungeon survival.)

 "…"

 (My monsters.)

(The time for the wait has ended.)

(The time for the hunt has come.)

 (Go.)

 (Hunt.)

 (Bring me the sacrifices.)

 "…"

The monsters that the dungeon master was hoarding all the time, its loyal puppets that only lived to serv it, all were unleashed to the outside world.

The dungeon break had started.
