Chapter 17 - Dark Cave 6 — offering a sense of protection

All the while He watched her crying in abandon —

*wuuu...*

*Auuu...*

Black swore in his heart that whoever or whatever made her go through this horrible torture, this horrible experience.

He would do everything in his ability and find that something and someone and make him or that thing go through an experience worse then death itself.

Even if not 10 minutes had passed since he met the little serpent.

Even so Black swore to himself. That he would take her in and protect her so that she would never cry like right now or at all if that was possible.

Meanwhile Black reached the little serpent, not braking the eye contact between them even ones. He didn't even blink his eyes, not knowing or afraid of what would happen to her if he did.

Now she was only an arms length away from Black. With those same watery eyes she stared up at him — her scarlett orbs filled with both hope and trust. Maybe it saw Black as the light at the end of the tunnel.

Black also stood there on his knees unmoving. Not knowing what to do while he too stared deep in those Scarlett orbs like he was lost.

Nonetheless he still stretched his right hand towards her. Beckoning her to accept it.

"Come!!?" His voice gentle and low — offering a sense of protection.

She directly looked towards the hand in front of her — the hand that promised her to forever end her suffering. Yet she still didn't move and just kept weeping or maybe she couldn't move at all because of how fragile and weak her mind was right now.

Her body indeed wanted that sense of protection that would release her from these chains of suffering but her fragile mind didn't know what to do, it didn't know, what accepting that hand really ment.

Watching the little serpent still unmoving — Black's golden eyes shone with the flames of determination in the eerie and foreboding darkness enshroudeing the dark cave.

Therefore, He reached both of his hands towards her and lifted her up from the ground, his right hand supporting her little head and his left hand supporting her small body.

Thereafter lifting the little serpent up in his embrace. He moved on his knees towards the same wall at the left end of the oval shaped-cave he had used previously and sat against the wall, leaning his back and weight on it.

While waiting for her to cry all she wanted and release all the negative emotions with her tears as he embraced her in his arms even more tightly to show her... to tell her that he was here... that she wasn't alone anymore.

The little serpent cried for the next 10 minutes without brake, her tears falling like a flood of emotions, her soft and innocent voice echoing like a death knell in Black's mind.

*Auuuu...*

*Auuuu...*

His Golden eyes aglow with an eerie and malevolent light because of the fury he felt as he watched and heard the anguished cry of the little serpent, tightening his arms around her little body even more with each passing minute.

The incandescent fury Black felt created a solmen atmosphere in the palpable and nightmarish darkness enshroudeing the dark cave.

...

*Hicc...*

Meanwhile, After 10 minutes the little serpent had already calm down and stopped crying.

Right now she had coiled herself again like serpents do and was calmly and peacefully sleeping on Black's lap as he leaned his back against the cave wall.

But he could still hear the small *hiccs* she was making even while asleep.

'What a strange little thing making me feel all these unknown emotions' Black thought as he looked at the little serpent sleeping on his lap with rapt attention and kind consideration while his creamy white hair fell over his face covering the kind of expression he was making even in the small dark cave where there was no one to see the two creature's.

Apparently, experiencing all those traumatic situations just within 4 hours since her birth in the Dark-Fall lake, then somehow ending up hiding in a dark cave, then hearing an unknown voice in the dark cave that she was hiding in and not being able to see who the unknown voice belonged too, fearing for her life, talking to the unknown creature, remembering past traumatic event, finding solace in the unknown creature's arm, crying all her heart out in the comfort of those arms and shedding all her negative emotions through her tears.

All of these things had taken a toll on her and exhausted her little-self, that the moment she stopped crying while finding the place in Black's arms both shielded and safe.

All that exhaustion finally hit her like a tsunami and she fell asleep on Black's lap without even saying a word, fully certain and assured of him, that he would not harm her, after all that.

Black also looked at the little serpent sleeping expression with a light smile thuged at the corner of his lips, he stared at the small coiled up body of the little serpent asleep on his lap, his hand brushing her obsidian scale's with a gentle care, careful not to wake her up, the little serpent moving now and then on his lap asleep with a calm and peaceful expression like she wasn't the one who had cried her heart out previously but someone else, which made Black smile in amusement.

"Hey, Double I want to ask you something?" Suddenly. Black spoke in his mind.

"Hmm..." though initially startled, then curious, Double replied "What is it, go ahead."

"I'm a Progenitor, right" Black asked as he lifted his head up and stared at the right wall in front as he leaned his weight on the wall behind him, his right hand still gentlely brushing the little serpents obsidian scale's.

"...Yes" Though confused as to why Black was asking something so obvious, he still replied after a moments hesitation.

"Then, I can make this little serpent one of my kin, right" Black asked as he closed his eyes and also leaned his head against the wall behind him, his right hand still gentlely brushing the little serpents obsidian scale's as she moved a little here and there on his lap.

"Yes..." Now Double was really curious as to why he was asking these questions, does he plan to make the little serpent into one of his kin.

'The Quantiarch — '
