Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: A Six-Star Review.

The dungeon was trapped in a state of surreal, high-stakes silence.

Dungeon-Dive Dave, the most ruthless critic in the known world, was sleeping peacefully in one of my napping alcoves. His Scry-Crystal floated silently in the air, broadcasting the live, unedited footage of his nap to millions of viewers across the continent.

FaeLina was a nervous wreck. She zipped back and forth, her wings a blur of anxious energy.

"What if he wakes up and says the nap was only a 'three-star' experience?" she whispered frantically. "What if the fluffiness of the Pillow Fiends wasn't optimally distributed for his body type? We could be ruined, Mochi! Ruined!"

He's a critic, I thought, a plan forming in my mind. It's my duty as the proprietor of this establishment to ensure he has the best possible customer experience.

It was, of course, a perfect excuse to meddle. I focused my will, extending a gentle thread of my consciousness into Dave's sleeping mind. I didn't create a whole new world for him, but simply gave his dream a little nudge. I filled it with the subconscious feeling of finding a "perfect, flawless dungeon," a place where every detail was exactly to his liking and there was absolutely nothing to criticize. It was a subtle but powerful suggestion.

An hour later, Dave began to stir. He didn't jolt awake. He sat up slowly, looking more rested and at peace than he had at any point during his stream. He looked at his still-broadcasting crystal, his millions of viewers waiting with bated breath for the final verdict.

He was silent for a long moment. He didn't even look at his notes.

"Dave's Divers," he began, his voice quiet and sincere, completely lacking its usual performative flair. "For years, I've rated dungeons on a scale of danger and treasure. On innovation in their traps. On the ferocity of their monsters. By all of those metrics, this place... 'The Comfy Corner'... is a complete and utter failure."

FaeLina made a tiny, heartbreaking squeak of pure despair.

"But I've just realized," Dave continued, a small, genuine smile gracing his lips, "that I've been rating the wrong thing entirely. I've been reviewing dungeons, but I forgot to review the experience. And the experience I just had... was perfect."

He looked directly into his crystal, his eyes clear.

"The Comfy Corner is not a dungeon. It is a masterpiece of a new genre entirely. My final rating is six stars out of five. I'm creating a new category just for this place. It is a must-visit."

He paused, then added, "In fact... I think I'm going to book a room here for the rest of the week. The Ministry can pay for it."

For a moment, there was silence. Then, FaeLina's invisible connection to the ScryNet seemed to explode.

"SIX STARS!" she shrieked, doing a series of ecstatic loop-the-loops in the air. "HE GAVE US SIX STARS! HE'S NEVER GIVEN ANYTHING MORE THAN FOUR! MOCHI, THE VIEWER COUNT IS LITERALLY BREAKING THE SYSTEM!"

A flood of notifications washed over my consciousness.

[Reputation with 'General Adventurers' has skyrocketed!]

[Reputation with 'Common Citizens' has skyrocketed!]

[Reputation with 'Dungeon Influencer Guild' is now 'Legendary'!]

[NEW DUNGEON STATUS UNLOCKED: 'Tourist Hotspot'.]

And then, a final, more ominous notification.

[WARNING: Due to viral exposure, dungeon visitor traffic is expected to increase by 1000% in the next 24 hours.]

FaeLina's celebration came to a screeching halt. She stared at the warning, her eyes wide with a new kind of terror.

"One... one thousand percent?" she stammered. "Mochi, we don't have the infrastructure! We only have four napping alcoves! The Tea Nook only has one slime! The wait times for a cup of tea will be astronomical! Our six-star rating will plummet due to poor customer service and long lines!"

Gilda, who had been watching this entire bizarre event unfold, looked deeply concerned. "Core," she said, her voice grave. "The little fairy is right. You're about to be overwhelmed."

I had wanted to create a quiet little sanctuary. Instead, I had just accidentally created the most popular, must-see tourist attraction in the entire kingdom.

My dream of a quiet, uninterrupted nap suddenly felt further away than ever.
