The professor watched silently from the shadows of the forest, observing the failure of his men. His expression remained calm, cold, and calculating as he followed the children's struggle. When the last of his followers fell, he stepped forward, emerging from the trees with slow, deliberate steps. His robe dragged along the ground, each footfall stamping a silent threat into the earth.
A faint smile curled his lips—as if everything was unfolding exactly as planned.
"That was an entertaining show," he said smoothly. "But now, let's move on to the real matter at hand."
The children, exhausted but alert, instinctively took up defensive stances. The professor's gaze swept over each of them before settling on Gohean.
"I have an offer for you," he said. "If you can endure and impress me, I'll give you the antidote. Your teacher will live. But if I'm not satisfied…" His eyes narrowed. "Gohean will come with me."
A heavy silence fell. No one spoke. All eyes turned to Gohean—this decision was his to make.
He took a deep breath. There was no fear in his eyes—only unwavering resolve.
"I accept," Gohean said firmly. "We'll save our teacher."
Everyone felt the weight of the battle that loomed ahead. Selion, though he had somewhat recovered, was still plagued by doubt. His hands trembled, fists clenched tightly as he stared at the ground.
Then Yuen stepped up beside him.
"I believe in you, Selion," he whispered.
Like a spark in the void, those words ignited something within him. Selion lifted his head, a flicker of confidence glinting in his eyes.
"Positions," Gohean ordered.
Yuen moved first. Raising his arms, he shouted, "Water Bullet!" A swirling sphere of blue energy shot toward the professor.
At the same time, Selion and Hex charged in from opposing angles. Hex activated "Stone Body," hardening his limbs like rock, while Selion invoked "Swift Steps," his form blurring with speed.
The professor didn't move.
With a casual wave of his hand, he conjured a shimmering barrier that absorbed the water bullet with ease. Then, in one fluid motion, he grabbed Selion and Hex mid-charge and hurled them like ragdolls into nearby trees.
They crashed to the ground, dazed but not defeated.
"Group synchronization, now!" Gohean shouted from behind.
The others nodded in agreement. Selion and Hex returned to the group, battered but determined.
Gohean stepped forward, flames of resolve burning in his gaze.
"I'll lead this fight," he said.
A tense silence followed, as everyone took their place.
