As the children witnessed the Professor's overwhelming power, their hope began to fade with each passing moment. Their mana was drained, and the strength to fight had left their trembling bodies. One by one, they collapsed to the ground. Gohean clenched his fists, furious at himself for being useless.
Selion, trapped in despair, thought of his last resort—A technique he had kept hidden for so long."Lightning."But what if it failed? What if it put his friends in even more danger?
Just then, a voice rose behind him."Selion! Use it!"It was Gohean. Worried, but resolute.
Selion's gaze briefly met his friend's. There was no fear in Gohean's eyes—only belief. That was enough. Selion made his decision. He poured all his remaining mana into one final strike."LIGHTNING!!!" he roared.
Dark clouds suddenly gathered in the sky. Thunder crackled, and the Professor's hair began to rise. Realizing something was wrong, he quickly summoned a barrier around himself.
But Selion's lightning... tore right through it.
Dust and smoke exploded across the battlefield. Silence fell.
For a moment, everyone held their breath.Had they… won?
Then, a familiar voice echoed through the haze."Ah, you little brat… You almost got me."
Ice gripped their hearts.Selion fell to his knees.Gohean gritted his teeth, desperately trying to come up with a new plan.Mia, Hex, Yuen, and Isac all looked toward him—lost and hopeless.
Selion slammed his fist into the ground in frustration."If I can't win here, then where can I? I won't let him take Gohean. They… They're my first real friends!"
He had no mana left. But his rage and determination carried him forward. He ran at the Professor, fists raised.
The Professor, amused by the boy's futile attempts, caught him mid-strike and hurled him into a tree.Selion got up. Again, he charged.Again, the Professor threw him aside.
Over and over, he rose—only to be struck down again.
Then…
One final time, Selion stood. His vision was blurred, knees shaking. But he did not falter.
That's when he noticed… the others had all lost consciousness. The Professor, meanwhile, was stumbling—barely staying on his feet.
Something wasn't right.
Selion looked around in confusion.
And then, a voice—calm, ancient, and cold—spoke:
"Greetings, little human."
