Chapter 3 - The rare find

Dr. Lee Ji-Hoon and her team at Seoul National University had been studying Kim So-Min's blood sample for weeks, and they had made a groundbreaking discovery. The actor's blood belonged to a previously unknown blood group, which they had dubbed "Solar."

But what was even more astonishing was that Kim So-Min's blood was incompatible with any other blood group. It was as if his body had a unique lock that could only be opened by a matching key - in this case, blood from someone with the same Solar blood group.

The implications were staggering. If Kim So-Min ever needed a blood transfusion, it would be impossible to find a compatible donor. The university's blood bank didn't have any record of anyone with the Solar blood group, and it was unlikely that they would find a match anywhere else in the world.

Dr. Lee and her team knew that they had to inform Kim So-Min about their discovery. They scheduled a meeting with him and explained the situation in detail.

Kim So-Min listened intently, his expression growing more and more serious as the scientists explained the implications of their discovery. "So, what you're saying is that I'm the only person in the world with this... Solar blood group?" he asked, his voice laced with a mixture of fascination and concern.

Dr. Lee nodded. "That's correct, Mr. Kim. As far as we know, you are the only person in the world with this unique blood group. And that means that if you ever need a blood transfusion, we won't be able to find a compatible donor."

Kim So-Min's eyes widened in shock. "What does that mean for my health?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

Dr. Lee hesitated before answering. "It means that we'll have to take extra precautions to ensure your safety, Mr. Kim. We'll need to monitor your health closely and make sure that you don't put yourself in any situations where you might need a blood transfusion."

Kim So-Min nodded, his mind racing with the implications of the scientists' discovery. He had always thought of himself as a normal person, but now he realized that he was one of a kind - a person with a unique blood group that made him both fascinating and vulnerable.

Kanak Thakur sat in the lab, waiting for the results of her blood test. She had donated her blood as part of a routine checkup, and her friend, Dr. Ria Sharma, a hematologist, was analyzing the sample.

After a few minutes, Dr. Sharma came out with a curious expression on her face. "Kanak, I've found something interesting in your blood test," she said, her eyes shining with excitement.

Kanak's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?" she asked, leaning forward in her chair.

Dr. Sharma hesitated for a moment before speaking. "You have a unique antibody in your blood that can kill white blood cells when they increase. This is a rare phenomenon, and it could potentially be used to cure blood cancer."

Kanak's eyes widened in shock. "That's amazing!" she exclaimed. "But what does it mean for me?"

Dr. Sharma smiled. "It means that you have a special gift, Kanak. Your blood could potentially save lives. And there's something else... your blood group is extremely rare. It's called Solar, and it's the same blood group as a Korean actor named Kim So-Min."

Kanak's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Kim So-Min? I've never heard of him."

Dr. Sharma nodded. "He's a famous actor in Korea, and he's been in the news recently because of his rare blood type. The doctors are searching for a donor with the same Solar blood group, and it seems that you might be the only match."

Kanak's mind was reeling with the implications. She had always thought of herself as an ordinary person, but now she realized that she had something extraordinary to offer. She looked at Dr. Sharma, her eyes shining with determination. "I want to help Kim So-Min," she said, her voice firm. "I want to be his donor."

Dr. Sharma smiled, impressed by Kanak's selflessness. "That's wonderful, Kanak. But before we proceed, I have to inform you that Kim So-Min's team is offering a substantial amount of money to anyone who can provide a matching blood donation."

Kanak's expression remained unchanged. "I don't want any money," she said, her voice clear. "I just want to help him. Can we arrange for me to donate my blood to him?"

Dr. Sharma nodded, a warm smile on her face. "I'll make the arrangements, Kanak. You're a true humanitarian."

Dr. Sharma nodded, a warm smile on her face. "Actually, Kanak, Kim So-Min's condition is unique. He doesn't need a blood transfusion right now, but he may need one in the future. Would you be willing to be his permanent donor, so to speak?"

Kanak nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I'd be happy to help him whenever he needs it."

Dr. Sharma nodded, a thoughtful expression on her face. "That's true, Kanak. As a Solar blood group carrier, you're also limited in terms of receiving blood transfusions. If you ever need a blood transfusion, you'll also require a matching Solar blood group donor."

Kanak nodded, understanding the implications. "I never thought about that," she said, a hint of concern in her voice.

Dr. Sharma smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Kanak. We'll make sure to take good care of you. And who knows, maybe one day we'll find more people with the Solar blood group, and it won't be such a rare commodity."

Kanak smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Dr. Sharma. "Thanks, Ria. I feel better knowing that you're looking out for me."

Dr. Sharma nodded, a serious expression on her face. "That's correct, Kanak. As of now, Kim So-Min is the only other person we know of with the Solar blood group. If you ever need a blood transfusion, he would be the only compatible donor."

Kanak's eyes widened in surprise. "And vice versa, right? If he needs a blood transfusion, I'm the only one who can donate to him?"

Dr. Sharma nodded. "Exactly, Kanak. You and Kim So-Min are, in a sense, each other's lifelines. You're the only two people in the world who can provide a compatible blood transfusion for each other."
