Chapter 33 - CHAPTER -32: Reversed Jealousy

Ayan takes the lead

The bruise on Ayan's lip had faded, but the memory of Kairo's reaction hadn't.

The look in his eyes. The crack in his voice. The jealousy he couldn't hide.

Ayan didn't message him. He didn't need to.

The next morning, he walked into campus with calm steps and chaos in his veins.

Not because of what had happened — but because of what he'd realized.

Kairo wanted him.

Not just to irritate or push around.

He wanted him.

And now Ayan wasn't going to pretend anymore.

He found him by the back courtyard — where Kairo always stood like he owned the silence.

But today, Ayan didn't approach like prey.

He moved like the storm.

No greeting. No hesitation. Just presence.

Kairo noticed him, of course. He always did. But this time, his eyes lingered longer.

Looking for weakness, maybe. He didn't find any.

"You're awfully brave," Kairo said finally.

Ayan smirked. "You're awfully obsessed."

Kairo's jaw twitched. "Don't flatter yourself."

"Why not?" Ayan stepped closer. "You do it enough for both of us."

That shut him up.

For once, the alpha didn't have a comeback.

Ayan could feel the tension shift — not disappear. Thicken. Warp.

Kairo looked away first.

And Ayan didn't let it slide.

"You get so jealous," he murmured. "It's almost sweet."

Kairo scoffed, but it was weak. "You think this is a game?"

"No. I think you're losing."

He turned and walked away before Kairo could recover — leaving him standing there, stunned and slightly breathless.

---

That night, Kairo stared at the ceiling, jaw clenched, emotions in a knot.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go.

Omegas weren't supposed to look at him like that.

Like he was the one unraveling.

---

Ayan, meanwhile, sat on his windowsill.

One leg hanging. One smile blooming.

He could still feel the heat of Kairo's stare on his back.

And for once?

He liked the power.
