Extra Chapter: On Every 50 powerstone

—————————————————————

One ring, two rings, three rings, four rings—a total of four soul rings rose from beneath the girl's feet, all of them purple, indicating thousand-year soul rings.

"Wu Siduo!" More than half of the students present gasped in shock.

Bai Xu, however, remained unfazed. He simply adjusted his stance, channeled strength into his legs, and engaged Wu Siduo in direct combat. The scene was a blur of afterimages as he clashed head-on with the Nether Spirit Cat, still holding back strength.

But none of them were ordinary.

Wu Siduo's body seemed boneless as she twisted lightly in midair, her entire figure turning illusory in an instant.

A dark aura emanated from her, but this darkness was different—it carried a strange, ethereal quality, a peculiar sensation that set it apart.

In a flicker of movement, her speed suddenly skyrocketed, and in the blink of an eye, she appeared behind Bai Xu. Claw shadows flashed as she aimed straight for the back of his head. This was a virtual world, after all; even if she killed him here, it wouldn't affect reality.

But her attack missed. Bai Xu's reflexes were faster. Ignoring the claw shadows, he sent Wu Siduo flying with a single punch.

The claw shadows struck Bai Xu's body with a loud metallic clang, creating a dramatic impact—yet they left no damage.

The girl frowned, her face twisted in pain as she half-knelt on the ground. For the first time, unease flickered across her expression. Bai Xu's punch was too heavy—stronger even than her other martial soul, the White Tiger. The sheer disparity in power made Wu Siduo worry about the outcome of the match for the first time.

She was going to lose!

And her White Tiger martial soul only had a single soul ring.

Unless she used her self-fusion soul skill, there was no way she could win.

Gritting her teeth against the pain, Wu Siduo closed her eyes and focused. The Nether Spirit Cat and the Nether White Tiger flickered in and out of existence before slowly merging together. A massive White Tiger, over five meters tall, was born.

Black and white light coiled around its body as soul power erupted outward. The sheer pressure of a martial soul fusion skill was indeed something none of their peers could withstand.

Bai Xu beckoned with his hand, as if finally seeing what he had been waiting for. The corners of his lips curled slightly upward, and in the next instant, the battle resumed.

Tiger claws and fists clashed repeatedly, the intensity of the fight already surpassing what their peers could comprehend. The sheer overflow of soul power flattened trees, and several students had already been eliminated from the competition due to the shockwaves of the battle.

After several exchanges, the White Tiger still couldn't calm down. Bai Xu was actually able to hold his own against her in this state—and he still seemed to have plenty of strength to spare. His power seemed limitless.

"Looks like you're the challenger here."

Bai Xu and Gu Yue left. The outcome was already decided. If the Nether White Tiger couldn't defeat Bai Xu, then once the fusion state dissipated and Wu Siduo's soul power was exhausted, she would stand no chance.

"He actually fought the Nether White Tiger to a standstill!" In the monitoring room, Shen Yi was shocked. "He still didn't use his martial soul—what's going on? That was a Soul Ancestor-level self-fusion skill!"

Wu Zhangkong was also deep in thought, his icy expression tinged with confusion. Bai Xu was too mysterious. Tang Wulin's unknown bloodline at least had some traceable origin, but Bai Xu's strength seemed to have no explanation—was it a martial soul that permanently enhanced his body?

Even without active use, it still strengthened him, like a passive soul skill.

Meanwhile, Tang Wulin was dealing with Xu Yucheng. Without hesitation, he unleashed his Golden Dragon Claw, quickly gaining the upper hand. He followed up with a relentless barrage of attacks, using the enhanced strength from his Golden Dragon Body to cripple Xu Yucheng outright.

The battlefield shrank once more, leaving only Tang Wulin's trio and Bai Xu and Gu Yue's pair remaining.

"We meet again. We must be pretty strong to make it this far," Xie Xie greeted them with a grin. "No need for us to fight, right?"

"Of course. We only want the vice-captain position."

"I forfeit!" Xu Xiaoyan immediately took a step back.

Xie Xie's lips twitched as he silently admired the girl's quick reaction. Then, knowing his own limits, he voluntarily withdrew as well.

"Bai Xu, don't you want to be the class monitor? You might even get into Shrek Academy's inner circle in the future!" Tang Wulin spoke up, as if trying to see even a hint of desire for the position in Bai Xu's eyes.

"No. I just want enough contribution points to eat."

The next moment, Bai Xu and Gu Yue voluntarily withdrew.

The world spun. After an indeterminate amount of time, their consciousness returned, and their vision cleared. They were back where they had started.

The results were clear: Tang Wulin was the class monitor, while Gu Yue and Bai Xu were vice-captains.

Wu Zhangkong and Shen Yi didn't comment further. Instead, they continued announcing, "Next, we will select the remaining three class committee members: for mecha design, mecha fabrication, and mecha repair. The forging committee member will continue to be held concurrently by Tang Wulin. Now, we will open nominations for the three deputy positions. Any student with a secondary profession at level two or above may participate."

Gu Yue stepped forward—she was going to compete for the design committee position.

Wu Siduo did the same, as did Luo Guixing, Xu Yucheng, and others.

"Students who are not participating in the committee elections may leave. Today's morning classes are dismissed," Shen Yi announced.

"I'll head out first," Bai Xu said to Gu Yue.

"Alright. I'll bring you food later."

For some reason, Bai Xu felt deeply moved. The phrase "bring you food" struck a chord in his heart. If his roommate in his past life had said something like that, he would have been so touched he'd cry, then curl up under his blankets and go back to sleep.

Tang Wulin watched Bai Xu's retreating figure, puzzled. This person was too strange—he seemed utterly indifferent, as if he had no desires at all. If not for the fact that his contribution points weren't enough to cover his monthly food and tuition expenses, Tang Wulin suspected Bai Xu wouldn't have even bothered competing.

He approached Wu Zhangkong and asked, "Teacher, I'm confused… and a little lost."

Wu Zhangkong wasn't surprised. "Is it about Bai Xu?"

"Yes. He gives off this detached, unapproachable vibe. I can't figure him out. And he's incredibly strong."

In this competition, Tang Wulin had defeated Xu Yucheng, while Bai Xu had defeated Wu Siduo—both of whom were ranked among the top young geniuses.

"The reason for this is that he knows exactly what he's doing. He already has a goal in mind—even if we don't know what it is—and he's working toward it," Wu Zhangkong explained.

"This child understands human relationships far too clearly, to the point where he's chosen to isolate himself. It's not his personality—it's his decision. Wulin, don't overthink it. Let things take their course. Your mutated bloodline is incredibly powerful. In the future, you may very well surpass him. Focus on your own goals, work hard, and the results will come in time."

"Teacher, I want to become stronger. I want to find my parents. I want to pass the exams and enter Shrek Academy's inner circle. I want to be like you…" Tang Wulin declared firmly.

---

In the work-study dormitory building, Bai Xu encountered a blond-haired young man—probably Yue Zhengyu.

The two didn't know each other, merely passing by without interaction.

Then he ran into Yuanen Yehui, who was following close behind. This woman was worth befriending, but there would be plenty of opportunities later.

He returned to his dorm and resumed cultivating.

The day passed quickly. Late at night, Gu Yue looked at Bai Xu, who was lying on the opposite bed, and smiled faintly. "Na'er is here. Want to go see her together?"

Bai Xu opened his eyes, thought for a moment, then agreed.

The two returned to the pavilion from that night. Na'er looked somewhat resentful. "What is it?"
