Lance took the fall? How come I didn't know? How the hell did that even happen? How did Landon find out it was me who kissed him back then?
The questions tore through my mind like wildfire, but they weren't the worst of it. What unsettled me most was his earlier words—that he'd never fucked anyone before and that he wanted me to be the first.
I had been taken aback, completely blindsided. But I buried the reaction, locking it deep where he couldn't see. I couldn't let him know what his confession had stirred inside me. Because his admission confirmed my worst fear. There was another man in that room that night. Another man I had sworn to forget.
"I know you had your face covered when you kissed me," he said firmly. "But I saw your surname. My sister did too—she saw you running. She reported you to the school management. I knew something was wrong the moment I heard Lance confess. Your scent and his weren't the same."
