Ethan began searching for the mechanism around the general's barracks, but he couldn't find it. "Damn, this is hard to find," he sighed. The general's residence was more complex than he thought.
After a few hours of searching, he finally retired to bed, having suffered enough for the day. Looking at the sky, he saw bright stars shooting and dancing in the dark night. "Eh, who would have thought this horrible place would be beautiful at night?" he cursed, yet was amazed.
Ethan smiled until he drifted off to sleep. He didn't know why, but no beasts were lurking around. Well, Ethan didn't care, since it was safe for him.
The next couple of hours, Ethan woke up; it was still dark. When he stood up, his whole body felt like crap. "Goddamnit," Ethan cursed. The battle between a half-awakened and a sacred beast was no joke.
At that moment of life and death, if Ethan had made a single mistake, maybe he would have already met his maker. But all in all, he still beat the crap out of the beast, so he was still proud.
After practicing breathing techniques for a while, he prepared himself a hearty beast steak. Smelling the juicy steak, he couldn't hold it much longer, as he gobbled it down fast. "Ah, good, I feel good," he sighed in relief.
After eating, Ethan still checked around the general's barracks but found nothing. Just when he was about to give up, Ethan mistakenly brushed against a hard floor. This surprised Ethan, as he rushed to inspect it. What he found was a slab carved in an ancient, mysterious language.
"Seems this is the language of the First Men," Ethan immediately knew. Since this place was the planet of the First Men, then this was their language. In the middle of the slab was a keyhole. Ethan knew what he should do next; he summoned the key he gained from killing the Night Stalker and inserted it.
The wall of the building shook as two sides of the wall slid open. "Who the fuck would make their place of residence like this?" Ethan wondered. He removed the key and entered the building.
The insides were dark; Ethan couldn't find any bad odor like he did on the outside. This place was unusually clean and untouched.
Boom!
Immediately, torches on the side of the wall lit up. "Is this still a general's residence?" Ethan wondered. On the outside, the building looked like any general residence back in the military.
"What if this place was hidden to hide secret treasure?" Ethan thought. "I just pray I see another sweet treasure." Ethan grinned as he walked forward.
Something was strange; the space inside the building was larger than it looked on the outside. The inside was about the size of five basketball courts. Ethan scanned around; he saw sculptures of giant men on horseback hunting terrifying beasts Ethan had never seen in his life.
The walls were exquisite and ancient. The craftsmanship alone made Ethan feel amazed; it was made out of a strange material Ethan couldn't fathom.
Ethan began walking deeper and deeper into the building, staring at the walls. They were telling him a story, a story of the First Men.
BANG!
An explosion sounded 50 meters away from Ethan, followed by a message that rang in his ears.
[New Quest Received: Defeat the Obsidian Knight, Level 12]
[Attributes: Strength 50, Agility 50, Stamina 50, Speed 50]
"Okay, here we go again," Ethan laughed.
