"I'm worried about this," Lizzie whispers to me, nodding toward the sparring pair.
I raise an eyebrow at her. "Really? I thought being a supernatural means you'd be a natural at hand-to-hand combat and probably not scared of anything."
"Not exactly," she admits. "While my brother West has been training in combat for over a decade, I have only six months of experience."
And there's me with zero days of combat training. Oh my days!
On the provided stage, Alex lunges at Kaleb, but he swiftly ducks and attempts to trip him. He stumbles but regains his balance, pulling out a dagger.
"I said no blades today! You can use the wooden sword. I'm not in the mood to witness blood today," Captain Derek shouts.
Alex reluctantly sheathes his knife, just in time to block a punch from Kaleb.
"Kaleb is going quite easy today, but he still has a strong punch," Lizzie comments, glancing at me.
