Chapter 38 - Divergence.

- It's been a month since that dungeon incident, and now I am at the balcony of my house.

- As I was looking at the beautiful view of the city I suddenly remembered about the game and the flaw of the storyline.

- I've stopped thinking of this world as a simulation, a set of predetermined events, and a narrated story

- Because now everything is now real. The smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery down the street, the sound of children laughing in the park, the warmth of the sun on my skin… it's all real.

- Rose is real. I've let go of the meta-narrative, the idea that I'm a player and this is a game. I am Leon.

- This is my life. Rose and I, we've been living a quiet, peaceful life, managing the city together.

- She's grown so much, her initial shyness replaced by a quiet confidence.

- She knows the city now, knows the people, and she's found a place for herself here.

- Watching her thrive has been a joy, a testament to the reality that has risen, come to accept, and live her life in the city that I with everyone else made.

- Our vacation, this beautiful, normal interlude, is over. The letter arrived this morning(delivered with magic), its official seal a simple, administrative formality.

- We're heading back to the academy, no longer rookies but second-year students.

- The title doesn't feel like a joke or a premonition; it's just a fact. We're a year older, a year wiser.

- My memories of the game storyline are distant, like a dream I once had.

- I remember the plot points, the major events, the names of key characters… but they're just that: memories.

- They don't dictate my actions, they don't fuel my dread. They're a reference, a historical record of a potential future that I've already chosen to diverge from.

- I look at Rose, her face a picture of serene anticipation. She's excited to go back, to see her friends, to continue her education.

- I'm excited for her. I'm not a villain trying to outrun his past, or a protagonist trying to change a fixed narrative.

- I'm just Leon, a person who cares about the people around him.

- I've already made the choice to be good, to be kind, to protect the people and what is precious to me.

- It was a choice I made a long time ago, a choice that has become a fundamental part of who I am.

- The academy is just a school. The people there are just people.

- And the future is not a predetermined script; it's a blank page we'll fill together.

- I'll still be careful, still use the knowledge I have to prevent disaster, but not out of fear, and not out of a desperate need to rewrite fate.

- I'll do it out of a simple, genuine desire to keep my friends safe, to keep Rose safe, and to protect the peaceful life we've built.

- The vacation is over. The next chapter of our lives is just beginning. And I'm ready to live it, not play it.

- As I was thinking about the future i thought about something that may be a crucial.

- I used to think being alone was a strength. No one to hold you back, no one to worry about.

- Just you and your own two feet, ready for anything. And for a long time, that was enough.

- It got me through things I never thought I'd survive. But then... there was Rose.

- She was so different. So full of life, so completely unafraid to let people in.

- Watching her, fighting alongside her, it made me see things differently.

- It wasn't about being weak; it was about being stronger together.

- She showed me that having someone by your side isn't a burden; it's a foundation.

- Now, heading into this second year... the thought of going it alone just feels... empty.

- The threats are getting bigger, the world outside is getting more dangerous, and I'm not the same person I was a year ago.

- I'm not just a lone wolf anymore. I want to build something. - I want to find others like me, people with potential, people with good hearts.

- We could train together, push each other, become something more than just a collection of individuals.

- I want to build a team. A real team. For the first time, I think... I don't want to do this alone. And I think that's okay.

- If I want a great party, we need to be at least six people. I've already got Rose, Noah, and Anna (Allen's fiancée). I met her at the academy, and we talked a lot—sometimes even training together.

- We're in very good terms. So we still need another two or three more people for the party, but first, I have to tell them, I have to make sure they're in, and that they're with me.
