Chapter 37 - Passage of the Test

- Their journey through the dungeon was a desperate bid for survival, a forced march through a labyrinth of shadows and traps.

- They fought their way through enchanted suits of armor animated by dark magic and navigated rivers of churning, acidic slime.

- Throughout it all, their partnership was the key to their survival.

- Leon's arcane abilities provided their offense, his Arcane Missiles tearing apart the dungeon's guardians from a distance, while his blade handled the threats that got too close.

- Rose was their shield, her Holy Light spells not only mending their wounds but also dispelling curses and revealing hidden passages obscured by illusion.

- Finally, they stood before the massive, circular chamber. A single torch flickered in the center, illuminating the colossal form of the dungeon's master: a Minotaur.

- It was a creature of mythic proportions, its head a bull's skull with horns like sharpened ivory, its body a fortress of muscle and rage.

- "You've come far." A deep, rumbling voice echoed from the Minotaur's chest.

- The Minotaur charged with a guttural roar, its axe held high.

- Leon met the charge head-on, his sword flashing. He wasn't just fighting a brute; he was fighting a living force of nature.

- But while Leon held the beast's attention, he also wove spells, his free hand glowing with arcane energy. Destructive spells erupted from his palms, searing the beast's thick hide and forcing it to stagger back.

- Rose, meanwhile, was their lifeline. Her divine power was not for destruction, but for preservation.

- When Leon was thrown against a wall, she was there, a flash of white light from her hands mending his injuries.

- When the Minotaur's roar threatened to deafen them, she cast a Divine Shield over them, giving them a moment of precious calm.

- Their teamwork was flawless. Leon's magic weakened the beast, making its movements slower, its swings less precise.

- Rose's healing and protective spells allowed Leon to take more risks, to push the assault relentlessly.

- Finally, an opening appeared. The Minotaur, enraged by their persistence, swung its axe in a wide, wild arc, leaving its chest exposed.

- "Now, Leon!" Rose yelled.

- Leon didn't hesitate. He used 'Flame piercer' channeling fire on his katana and thrusted it, driving the blade deep into the Minotaur's exposed heart.

- The beast let out a final, pained roar, its body collapsing with a ground-shaking thud. The axe clattered to the floor, its light fading.

- Silence fell over the chamber. The torch in the center of the room flared once, then extinguished, plunging them into darkness.

- Thus ended the fight and a good training for Rose as a supporter and she passed with a flying score.

- What new challenges or opportunities await Leon and Rose in the quiet after the storm? Do they find a new challenge, a hidden treasure, or a way back to the world above?

- " It was quite a fight right Rose? Leon asked Rose while they were resting in the boss's room.

- " Yeah. I never saw a bottle like this. But you were awesome fighting that minatour." Rose.

- We chatted as we were sitting in the room, but in the middle of our chatting a light appeared beneath us and instantly teleported us.

- We opened our eyes only to see we were outside the dungeon and it felt like the time didn't move at all.

- And the dungeon entrance disappeared like it was never there to begin with.

- We looked at each other puzzled and confused but we decided to go back for now and get some rest.

- But before we went back, we heard a cry and searched where it came from and we found a small white cat injured and was lying under a rock.

- She was a small, fragile thing, huddled under the lip of a granite rock.

- Her fur was a breathtaking, ethereal white, like freshly fallen snow untouched by a single footprint.

- It was a little dusty from the rock, but its purity was undeniable. Her eyes, two brilliant sapphires, seemed to glow in the shadow of the rock, wide with a mix of fear and curiosity.

- A small, delicate nose, the color of a rose petal, twitched as she took in the new world around her. She was a ghost of a cat, a whisper of winter, waiting to be found.

- Rose immediately run towards it trying to save it but the rock was big and heavy, so I moved it with magic and Rose healed the cat and held it in her arms.

- After we saved it she seemed to calm down and rest on her arms.

- Then we went back on our track back home tired.
