Stacy's POV
As we moved, I found myself staring at his back. His stretcher was firm, and I quickly got lost in thought immediately.
"His back would probably make a good pillow..." I expressed, and then smiled at nothing in particular. I then pressed my lips together as a warm, hot sensation hit my cheeks. I was embarrassed. Luckily, he wasn't looking, and even if he was…. I drifted into thoughts again.
His eyes were something I couldn't just pull out of. Most times when he stared at me, I found myself holding my breath. Not because I was scared—yeah, maybe before—but today, it felt different.
"Don't step over that."
Before his words could reach my ears that were blocked by my imagination, I tripped.
"Woah!" I exclaimed when I lost my balance, and I thought I was going to hit the ground, so I braced myself for impact. That included me closing my eyes.
