"Oh well, let's begin," Rayden muttered.
He condensed a purple-red energy ball in his palm, carefully suppressing and diluting the annihilation energy within. The color of the energy sphere gradually shifted to deep crimson, indicating the energy inside had been reduced—down to just 10% of its original destructive power.
"Broly, you go first!"
Broly nodded and let out a thunderous roar. His aura surged violently as his energy spiked. In a matter of seconds, he transformed into Super Saiyan 4—his red fur and fierce energy signaling his full power.
Seeing Broly fully transformed, Rayden immediately hurled the energy ball toward him.
Broly met it head-on, raising his arms and forming a defensive stance.
But the moment his hands touched the energy ball, something strange began to happen.
His aura started being devoured—bit by bit—by the annihilation energy.
"Ahhh!!"
Broly screamed, unleashing the explosive power of his Super Saiyan bloodline in an effort to resist the corrosive force. But no matter how fiercely he raged, the annihilation energy continued to consume his ki like a black hole.
"No way!" Broly shouted in frustration. "If I can't resist this energy, I'll never be able to take revenge on that damned fat cat!"
He was, of course, referring to Champa, the Sixth Universe's God of Destruction.
Broly let out another deafening roar, and his aura surged again.
Suddenly, the skies darkened, thunder rumbled overhead, and bolts of lightning began striking around him.
His black hair began to shift—turning a brilliant silver-white and growing long enough to reach his waist. The red fur on his chest and his tail also turned the same radiant silver.
Cell's eyes widened in shock. "Rayden, isn't that… the same form you used when we fought Sidra?"
Rayden nodded, equally surprised. "Yes… that's Super Saiyan 5!"
He hadn't expected Broly to surpass his limits and break through under such extreme pressure.
After the transformation, Broly's power skyrocketed. He caught the annihilation energy with ease, the sphere now completely stalled in front of him.
With a steady growl, Broly began compressing the energy between his hands. The sphere shrank smaller and smaller… until—
Boom!
It exploded, unable to withstand his grip.
Broly landed, panting, but his face lit up with joy.
"Rayden, I did it!"
Rayden smiled and gave him a thumbs-up. "Well done."
Cell stepped forward. "Broly, that was insane. Was Rayden's annihilation energy really that powerful? Even your Super Saiyan 4 couldn't hold it off?"
Broly nodded gravely. "No matter how hard I tried, it kept devouring my energy. It was like… trying to stop quicksand with my bare hands."
Hearing Broly's serious tone, Cell began to worry. He wasn't sure if even his Platinum Form could survive the same.
Rayden chuckled. "Broly, that was only about 10% of my full annihilation energy."
"Just ten percent?!"
Broly and Cell froze in disbelief.
Rayden continued calmly. "Destructive energy is powerful, yes—but annihilation energy is something else entirely. If you can handle 40 to 50 percent of it, you won't need to fear destructive energy from a God of Destruction again."
"I see…" they said in unison, still trying to wrap their heads around it.
Rayden turned back to Broly. "You've just broken through to Super Saiyan 5. Go rest and consolidate your realm."
Then, he looked at Cell. "Now it's your turn. Let's see what you can do."
Broly nodded and walked off to meditate quietly.
"Haaah!!"
Cell roared, launching into the sky as he released all of his energy in one huge burst.
His green skin shimmered, turning a brilliant golden hue. He had transformed into Golden Cell!
But he didn't stop there.
His aura kept climbing.
"Wait a second…" Broly looked to Rayden. "What's going on? Is Cell evolving again?"
Rayden raised a brow.
Broly quickly explained. "Since we left the Dragon God Realm, a lot has happened. You've been training separately. During the battles against the evil dragons, Cell, Piccolo, and Gohan all awakened new transformations thanks to Ryuichi unlocking their latent potential."
Rayden nodded. "Makes sense. I bet Gohan and Piccolo have leveled up big time too."
Back in the sky, Cell was glowing intensely. The golden hue began shifting, gradually turning silver-white, and his aura became even denser and colder.
Finally, with a flash of brilliant light, Golden Cell evolved into Platinum Cell.
His energy now radiated a chilling, untouchable pressure.
Rayden was stunned. This transformation… it's like he's also using the raw energy from his Saiyan bloodline. I wonder—can he continue to evolve during battle, like Broly?
Cell looked down at Rayden. "I'm ready! Send the energy at me!"
Rayden nodded, forming another annihilation energy ball, just like the one Broly had struggled against. After carefully measuring it, he hurled it toward Cell.
As it neared, Cell formed an energy shield around himself and braced for the collision.
Just as Broly had warned, the sphere's energy was deceptively calm at first—but then it started devouring the barrier. Energy, no matter how concentrated, was swallowed slowly and steadily.
The only way to stop it… was raw, physical force.
"HAAAAH!!"
Cell roared as the full power of his Transcendent Bloodline burst forth. He began resisting the annihilation energy head-on, fighting tooth and nail to hold it back.
But the pressure was immense.
His body began to crack and bleed, deep wounds forming all over him.
Rayden immediately recognized the problem.
Cell's body can't handle the violent energy. It's bursting out too fast.
If not for the Namekian cells from Piccolo and Lord Slug constantly healing him, he would've already exploded.
Still, after a long minute of deadlock, Cell finally crushed the energy ball with a cry of victory.
He descended slowly, breathing heavily, sweat pouring from his face.
Rayden rushed over and examined the wounds. "Cell… did this happen before when you used this form?"
Cell took a deep breath, recalling his past battles. "Only when I continuously channel this much energy. If I just tap into it a little, I'm fine. But if it keeps overflowing like this… it can affect my mind. Once that happens, my body starts breaking down."
Rayden was surprised. "That's the same problem Broly used to have. His berserk energy would overwhelm his consciousness until his body couldn't take it anymore."
Then Rayden had a thought—he remembered the Consciousness Recovery Potion!
"I've got one left…" he whispered.
Rayden reached into his storage ring and pulled out a small, glowing vial.
Cell looked at it curiously and gave it a gentle shake. "What's this?"
Rayden grinned. "It's a Consciousness Recovery Potion. Once you drink this, you won't lose control of your energy anymore. It will stabilize your mind—even when violent energy surges."
Without hesitation, Cell popped the cork and drank the potion in one gulp.
His eyes widened as he felt the changes. "Whoa… I can feel it! My mind is completely clear! No more instability!"
Rayden nodded, satisfied. "Good. That means you'll be able to fully control your Platinum Form now."
He then turned to Broly, who was just finishing his meditation nearby.
"Broly! Your turn again. This time, I'm going to release a stronger energy ball—be ready!"
"I'm ready," Broly replied confidently.
And so, from that day forward, Rayden trained Broly and Cell daily, pushing them to withstand and eventually counter annihilation energy.
Meanwhile, Paragus had flown off to train with Son Goku, Vegeta, and the others on the mainland.
