A few months later...
On a mysterious and distant planet far from Earth—one that exudes divine energy and a sacred atmosphere akin to the World of the Supreme Kai—a momentous awakening was about to occur.
Atop the boughs of a colossal ancient tree, curled up comfortably, a purple Cornish Rex cat-like being yawned lazily as he stirred from his deep slumber.
"Whis! Whis! Where have you disappeared to again?!" the being shouted irritably, stretching his limbs.
"Lord Beerus, you're awake!" came a cheerful voice nearby.
Descending gracefully from the sky with his scepter in hand, Whis, the angel attendant of the Seventh Universe's God of Destruction, appeared with a calm smile.
"Hmph. I'm starving, Whis. Go prepare some food immediately!" Beerus rubbed his stomach with a loud growl.
Whis chuckled softly. "As expected of Lord Beerus. Sleep, eat, repeat—that's the life of a God of Destruction."
He nodded respectfully and glided away to begin preparations.
After a while, Beerus emerged from the tree in his full Gods of Destruction attire, now wide awake and seated at the dining table.
"Whis, it's strange... why did I wake up so early this time?" Beerus asked between bites.
Indeed, it was unusual. Gods of Destruction typically slept for centuries, sometimes even millennia.
"Hmm, what could it be...?" Whis asked, genuinely curious.
Beerus paused, a piece of food hovering in the air before his mouth. "I had a dream… a very bizarre one."
"Oh?" Whis raised an eyebrow. "What kind of dream?"
"Hahaha!" Beerus suddenly burst into laughter. "You won't believe it—I dreamt that I was defeated by a human!"
Whis couldn't help but laugh as well. "A human defeating you? That's quite the nightmare, Lord Beerus. But then again... there are certain individuals whose power has been growing rapidly."
Beerus's expression turned serious for a moment as if something clicked in his mind.
"Whis, how much work have I neglected while I was asleep?"
Whis raised his staff and conjured a glowing data chart in the air. "Let me see... if you destroyed planets full-time, every day, without rest, it would take roughly... three years to complete everything you've put off."
"Three years?!" Beerus spat out his food. "That damned Frieza! I left the universe in his care while I slept, and this is how he repays me?"
He clenched his fists. "Whis, check on Frieza's current status!"
"As you wish, Lord Beerus." Whis tapped his staff, creating a visual projection in the air.
After a moment, Whis blinked. "Well... Lord Beerus, Frieza is dead."
"What?!" Beerus stood up, eyes wide. "Frieza? Dead? That's impossible!"
Even if Frieza wasn't as powerful as a God of Destruction, he was still formidable—few beings in the universe could defeat him.
"Lord Beerus, Frieza followed your orders and destroyed Planet Vegeta, wiping out most of the Saiyans," Whis explained. "However, a handful survived on other worlds. Over time, they reunited… and eventually, they managed to defeat Frieza."
Beerus narrowed his eyes. "You mean to tell me Saiyans defeated him? Are you joking?"
Whis shook his head. "Ordinary Saiyans wouldn't stand a chance, but after they unlocked the Super Saiyan transformation, their power increased exponentially."
"Super Saiyan…" Beerus muttered, tapping his forehead. The name sparked a memory.
"Whis, wasn't there something in my dream about a Super Saiyan God?"
"Indeed," Whis said thoughtfully. "It's possible your dream is connected to them."
Beerus paced for a moment. "Where is the Saiyan who defeated Frieza now?"
Whis consulted his staff again. "On Earth."
"Earth?" Beerus scratched his head. "Didn't I destroy that planet once after some rude dinosaur creatures annoyed me?"
"Yes," Whis nodded. "But it seems the planet was restored."
Beerus huffed. "How long would it take us to reach Earth from here?"
Whis considered. "Roughly 30 minutes. Enough time to enjoy an episode of your favorite cartoon."
"Hmph! What a hassle..." Beerus yawned. "But fine. Let's go. I want to see this Super Saiyan God for myself."
"Yes, Lord Beerus."
Beerus placed a hand on Whis's back, and in a flash of divine energy, the two vanished.

Earth – Training Grounds
On a massive plateau surrounded by cliffs and forests, Son Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Paragus, Goten, and Trunks were engaged in intense sparring.
Goku landed a swift kick to Vegeta's chest. "Heh! You've gotten even stronger, Vegeta! Have you been training at night again?"
Vegeta countered with a spinning backfist. "Hmph. I won't waste a single second. I must surpass Rayden and the others!"
The two exchanged flurries of punches and kicks, the sky trembling with each clash.
Suddenly—whoosh!
Two figures appeared out of thin air.
Everyone stopped mid-air and descended cautiously.
"A cat… and a man?" Goten blinked.
Vegeta's eyes widened as a chill ran down his spine.
"Lord Beerus?!"
He immediately bowed. "What brings you to Earth, my Lord?"
Beerus examined him curiously. "Hmm… you seem familiar. Who are you?"
Whis answered, smiling. "This is Prince Vegeta, son of King Vegeta."
"Ah! King Vegeta's boy!" Beerus nodded. "Tell me—do you know where the Saiyan who defeated Frieza is?"
"Kakarot!" Vegeta shouted. "Come here!"
Goku jogged over casually. "What's the matter, Vegeta? You seem a little... nervous."
Vegeta whispered sharply, "That's the God of Destruction, Beerus!"
"God of Destruction...?!" Goku's expression shifted slightly. He had heard of Beerus from Rayden and the old Supreme Kai, but this was his first time seeing the real thing.
Beerus stared at Goku. "You're the one who defeated Frieza?"
"Yeah," Goku replied. "Why do you ask?"
"Tell me about the Super Saiyan God," Beerus demanded, his tone sharp.
Goku scratched his head. "Hmm. It's just a transformation Saiyans can achieve. Why are you so interested in it?"
Beerus narrowed his eyes. "That's none of your concern. Just tell me—who has this transformation?"
Goku shrugged. "Well… all of us here can do it."
"Don't lie to me," Beerus growled. "If you are, I'll destroy this planet!"
Off to the side, Whis had already drifted under a tree and was snacking while watching the show unfold.
Goku smiled confidently. "Goten! Show Lord Beerus your transformation."
"Sure thing, Dad!"
Goten stepped forward and let out a sharp yell. His body flared with energy, flames of red divine ki engulfing him. His hair turned a vibrant crimson.
Beerus's eyes lit up. "Impressive. Divine ki at such a young age?"
He walked forward, cracking his knuckles. "Come here, little one. Let me test your strength."
He placed one hand behind his back, signaling he'd fight Goten with just one hand.
Piccolo, sensing danger, quickly teleported away to find Rayden...
