Under the shadows, two crimson eyes glowed dimly; its predatory gaze was directed toward the bed. On it, a maid in her forties slept comfortably tucked under her blanket.
As her chest heaved, Kate walked near her with light steps. Her pupils dilated, her vision turned red, and her heart thrummed. She clenched her fists, nails pierced her palm, and pain calmed her mind. She took a breath and leaned over her exposed neck. With every breath, she could hear her carotid pulse loud and clear. She closed the gap, and her fangs touched the warm, tender skin.
Squelch!
Blood trickled into her mouth, and a groan escaped from the maid's mouth. But she didn't wake up. Kate took her first sip; the sweet, warm, iron-rich liquid felt intoxicating. Her eyes rolled back in her head, and she felt ecstasy that couldn't be found anywhere in the world.
"Gulp!"
She took another sip, and it felt sweeter than the first. Her whole body shook in pleasure.
