"RUMBLE!"
The dust fell from the wall as it shook and split apart. Victor jerked back, pulling his finger out. His heart raced, adrenaline rushed through his veins, as he anticipated another discovery. A door frame formed a leading into the dimly lit corridor. He smiled, stepped out, and appeared in a familiar place.
"Victor!" Kate exclaimed as she saw him suddenly pop up in the middle.
He spun around with a shock and noticed Kate standing right before him. He glanced back at the wall where he had come from, but there was nothing there, no door. He jumped toward the wall and touched it. But he could only feel the cold and the boring bricks.
He crossed his arms and muttered, "That door led me out here and but the entrance is in a maze."
He nodded to himself and turned to frozen Kate. He stepped close to her, and his eyes zoomed in on her lips. He noticed a dried drop of blood on her chin. He squinted his eyes at Kate's. 'Did she lose control and kill someone?'
