Chapter 29 - Battle with a Princess

Weakness washed over Victor's body.

"Now, you're kicking me in the balls, too. I thought you were on my side." Victor muttered under his breath, staring at the system panel.

"Quiet!" Mona's loud voice almost broke the eardrums of everyone.

Everyone turned quiet, covering their ears in pain.

Mona nodded with a smile and looked at the arena, where Victor and Kate were standing in the middle, ready to jump at each other.

"Start!"

She shouted.

Kate pounced on Victor.

Kate's punch was hurled straight, aimed at his face, but he stepped sideways.

She lost her balance and fell face-first.

Thud!

The crowd turned quiet.

"I thought it would be a tough fight," Victor said in a whisper. A wave of murmurs buzzed in the crowd at his remark.

Kate stood up abruptly, her face red from humiliation and anger. Her jaw clenched.

She lunged again at Victor.

He was easily able to predict her simple punches.

As the fist was about to pummel his face, he ducked low and punched her in the stomach.

Bam!

"Ugh!" A groan escaped from Kate's mouth as she stumbled back, clenching her stomach. Her breath hitched, and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears.

She stood up again, crimson with anger, her pretty face turning grotesque. And without much of a thought, she jumped at him.

He pivoted away, and she fell on the arena ropes.

The ropes creaked and tossed her back.

Thud!

She fell on the ground, tears rolling down. Victor stood with hands clasped behind his back. He gazed at her with mild amusement.

'Is she that weak, or am I better than her?' He contemplated.

'I know my reflexes are good, but isn't she a princess. She should be stronger than me, right? His mind raced with thoughts.

Kate stood up. Her chest heaving, and her sclera red, resembling her pupils. She gritted her teeth and bellowed, "Coward, face me if you have the guts."

Victor smiled at her, "I'm facing you, but you're too weak; you are not able to land even a finger on me. Oh, and by the way, what is your name?"

"Ahhhhh! You bastard!" Kate screamed, pulling her hair.

"Why are you acting crazy, Princess?" Victor mocked, smirking.

"Stop, right now!" Mona's thunder-like voice interrupted the two.

Victor glanced at Mona with raised eyebrows, 'She wanted to enjoy my beat-up?'

Mona looked at Kate, who was almost at the brink of losing her mind, and the calm Victor. She stepped inside and walked into the middle of them.

"What were these two doing wrong?" Mona asked, looking at the crowd. Victor stepped out of the Arena and stopped near Luke, who smiled at him. Victor gave a curt nod and faced ahead.

Mona's brow furrowed at Victor's action, but she didn't call him out. Several hands rose from the blue and golden faction. Mona pointed at one from the blue faction.

A boy came forward, smiling, "Tras—I mean, black faction member acted cowardly." He shouted haughtily.

"Anyone who has a different opinion?" Mona asked.

All the hands lowered from the blue faction and the golden faction. Only one hand remained in the air.

"Yes, Feena." Mona smiled at Feena

"The princess acted in an amateur way. She wasn't able to control her emotions." Feena stated like a professional.

"You are right, Kate acted quite immaturely. She let her emotions cloud her judgment." Mona announced in a neutral tone.

"Now, who wants to fight?" Mona asked

"I want to have a match with that mister," Feena said, pointing toward Victor.

Victor sighed visibly and muttered in a low voice, "Why is everyone fixated on me?"

Gasps echoed in the hall as everyone heard his words. With a shrug, he stepped into the arena. The same thing happened as before, slurs like Trash, Lesser race, and many similar words buzzed in the crowd.

Victor lazily observed Feena. Her grey eyes were calm like a lake, and her arms were relaxed. Her knees bent, with leg muscles tense, shape clear through her tight, dark brown jeans.

"Begin!" Mona shouted and backed out.

Whoosh!

Feena lunged toward Victor.

Her speed felt like she vanished and appeared right before him.

Swoosh!

Victor jumped back as a palm cut the air like a knife, where he stood.

His eyes narrowed as he examined her 'I think I can't act in a relaxed manner.

Instead of waiting for her, he pounced on her. His punch came hurling for her stomach. Feena smiled, easily dodging it by moving back a little.

But the punch unnaturally turned the direction in the middle and dashed at her thigh. Feena's eyes widened, but she wasn't able to dodge it.

Bam!

"Ugh"

She backed away, limping.

"You!" She bellowed, losing her composure.

How can one expect a werewolf to control its emotions? Her claws emerged from her hands, and silver fur covered her forearms.

She growled at Victor.

"GRRR!"

A ripple of Murmurs ran through the crowd. The cadets backed away, with trembling eyes. Only Golden Faction smirked at Victor's doom.

Victor didn't feel fear; he was observing her curiously. Her grey eyes glowed with dim grey light. Her claws were a few inches longer with golden light flickering around them.

Before Feena can pounce on Victor

"STOP!" Mona jumped between the two.

Feena came back to her senses, her claws and fur retreated. She lowered her head in shame and stepped out of the arena.

Mona sighed, massaging her temple.

She looked at Victor, who was already moving out of the arena.

"He is natural in close combat, with fast reflexes and sharp instinct. A good seedling. If only he had Gaia's blessing." Mona shook her head.
