I hurled the empty bottle at his head, the sharp crack echoing through the room as I missed. The glass exploding against the wall behind him.
He glanced at the shattered glass on the floor, then slowly turned back to me.
His eyes flashed red. And in one swift moment, he grabbed my shoulders and slammed me against the wall before I could react.
Then, just as quickly, the rage vanished. As if waking from a trance, he pulled me into his arms, murmuring apologies. His hands rubbed my shoulders, then my back, pressing a soft, gentle kiss to the top of my head.
I stood there frozen, confused by the sudden shift. From the violence, then to the tenderness and the fear lacing his voice.
Then it hit me. What he'd just revealed.
I shoved him away, my breath catching. I couldn't even look at him.
Never have I feel so violated.
"I don't want to be pregnant right now, Ravić," I said, voice trembling but firm. "I can't."
