"You can go without me. I want to see Zixuan."
His parents nodded in understanding as they left.
"Mr. Fu and Mrs. Fu," Haoran called out.
"You don't have to call us that," Mrs. Fu replied with a bright smile. "You're about to marry our Zixuan—call us Mum and Dad."
Haoran nodded. "Alright, Mum and Dad. Can I have your permission to stay the night?"
Mrs. Fu waved her hand, clearly excited. "No problem, son. Follow the maid—she'll take you to Zixuan's room."
"Thank you." He followed the maid upstairs until she stopped at a familiar door.
"Here, sir," she said, bowing slightly before leaving.
Haoran didn't bother knocking. He was certain Zixuan would lock him out if he knew who it was. So, he pushed the door open.
"Who is that?" Zixuan asked, still lying on the bed. He frowned when he heard the screech of his door. Who had the audacity to enter his room without knocking?
"It's your fiancé."
Haoran.
Zixuan bolted upright, glaring. "What are you doing in my room?"
