Mrs. Fu couldn't help but look at her husband for help. She hadn't expected that Zixuan would be this strongly against the marriage.
Mr. Fu caught her gaze and gave a subtle nod. "Let's talk at the back," he said to Zixuan.
Zixuan nodded reluctantly, following his dad to another room.
Mrs. Fu kept glancing nervously at the hallway, wondering what her husband could possibly be saying. Meanwhile, Haoran stood quietly, also a little curious whether Zixuan was going to agree.
A few minutes passed, and they both came back—with Zixuan's face and expression looking even more angry than before.
What had her husband said to make Zixuan even angrier? Mrs. Fu couldn't help but wonder nervously.
Zixuan walked toward the center of the room, stopped just a few feet away from Haoran, and glared directly at him.
"I accept this engagement," he announced.
Joy filled Mrs. Fu's face as she exclaimed, "Thank you! I'm going to die happy tonight." She said, pecking him on the cheek.
