After the minor incident, news of the sighting of a being that appeared out of nowhere began to spread like wildfire on social media.
There had not been such a talked-about event since the Sports Festival, and headlines began to appear, showing clips of the being.
Every channel and digital platform was covering the appearance, showing the clips over and over again. There was speculation about its origin, whether it was the work of a known villain or a completely new threat.
The network of professional heroes would instantly go on red alert. Sensors and security cameras would detect its presence, and reports from terrified citizens would flood the emergency channels.
"STRANGE BEING APPEARS IN THE CITY"
"HERO? OR VILLAIN? NEW BEING APPEARS"
"THE 'MAHORAGA PHENOMENON': A 3-METER-TALL BEING"
Citizens began discussing their theories and possible origins, although no one could guess correctly since the threat is not of this world.
All this happened within an hour of the first sighting, which made both heroes and villains aware of MAHORAGA.
The first reports speak of a "giant monster" that ignores gunfire. That's when Death Arms, the professional hero with his "Increased Strength" Quirk, enters the scene.
Death Arms is a veteran hero, known for his large build and direct approach to combat. He has dealt with villains and Nomus before, and his first reaction is that of any hero: to protect civilians and stop the threat.
Death Arms lands with a thud on the street, generating a small shockwave. His voice resonates with authority: "Stop right there, creature! I won't let you continue wreaking havoc!"
Mahoraga, who until now had only advanced at a steady pace, stopped.
"Havoc? I think that's a misguided way of putting it when I was shot just for talking," Mahoraga said, slowly turning to look at Death Arms.
Seeing Mahoraga up close, he realized that he was tall, taller than he had thought. He also noticed chains hanging from his chest, in addition to the sword attached to his left arm.
"That doesn't justify you hurting civilians!" said Death Arms.
"So I should just let them shoot me? I think your logic is flawed," Mahoraga said in a more serious tone.
"Then I'll have to stop you," he said.
Death Arms charged with all his power into one arm.
"Smash!" he shouted, throwing a devastating punch straight at the center of Mahoraga's body.
The blow was strong enough to crack the concrete and send a gust of wind around him.
The impact was brutal. Death Arms' arm connected with Mahoraga's body with a sharp, almost unnatural sound.
Mahoraga simply felt as if he had been pushed and staggered backward. To the hero's surprise, the wheel on Mahoraga's head spun rapidly, emitting a clear, resonant "CLIK."
It was the first time the hero had seen this. He was stunned, believing that the being was stronger than it appeared. An imperceptible wave of energy seemed to emanate from Mahoraga.
Death Arms tried another blow, but this time, his fist seemed to slip. It was as if the energy from the impact dispersed instantly.
Death Arms' second and third blows, though executed with the same ferocity, were met with even greater indifference.
His punches, his most reliable weapon, are losing their effect. The creature was adapting to his strength, and frustration and a twinge of terror appeared on his face.
"Impossible!" said Death Arms.
As he said that, Mahoraga approached relentlessly, with a heavier presence.
"I think I should return those blows," Mahoraga said.
Then Mahoraga moved his right arm and threw a punch. Death Arms thought it would be just a simple blow and believed that raising his arms would be enough to intercept it.
Then the impossible happened. That small blow contained incredible force, much more than his fists.
Death Arms was thrown against a wall and could be heard shattering completely. The hero was seen to be injured and lying on the ground. If anyone approached, they could see blood flowing from his head.
The hero lay unconscious on the ground, completely out of action. Mahoraga didn't flinch and continued advancing, emitting a much stronger and darker aura.
