Chapter 9 - Stain Vs Mahoraga

With a burst of speed, Stain lunged forward. He was a blur, his katana aimed at vulnerable points, seeking the blood that would activate his Quirk.

He managed to land several superficial cuts on Mahoraga's body, damaging it. A dark, almost oily substance oozed from the wounds.

In a swift motion, Stain licked a drop. His eyes narrowed, waiting for his Quirk to activate.

Mahoraga's wheel spun, emitting a clear, resonant "CLICK." An imperceptible wave of energy seemed to emanate from his body.

"What...!? My Quirk... isn't working. How?! No one is immune...!" Stain said in amazement.

Mahoraga, now completely immune to the paralysis of "Blood Coagulation," resumed his advance toward Stain. Each step was heavy, relentless.

"I think without your Quirks you're a useless idiot," Mahoraga said with a sinister smile.

"Don't underestimate me! Even if my Quirk doesn't work, my katana will!" Stain said furiously.

He lunged again, a flurry of steel. Precise strikes aimed at the joints, seeking to dismember, to destroy.

But each attack was met with perfect defense. Mahoraga's body hardened instantly at the point of impact, causing the blades to slide harmlessly off.

The air was filled with the constant "CLIK-CLIK'-CLIK-CLIK" of the wheel, a symphony of invulnerability.

Mahoraga, without a single wasted movement, extended an armored arm. It was not a brute force strike, but a movement that intercepted Stain's attack, deflecting his katana and disarming him with a sharp blow. The sword fell with a metallic clang as it hit the ground.

"It seems to me that your Quirk and your abilities are no longer effective against me," Mahoraga said in a grave tone.

The creature's icy voice, devoid of emotion, struck Stain harder than any physical blow. It was not an enraged villain, nor an arrogant hero. It was the perfect adaptation machine, which had just declared its superiority with a coldness unlike anything before.

The Hero Killer, for the first time, felt a sense of helplessness that surpassed his pride. This thing could not be judged by his code. It was not a "false hero" that could be purged, nor an injustice that could be rectified with his sword. It was a force of nature.

"Impossible... There is no creature without weakness..." Stain said, almost not believing what was happening before his eyes.

Mahoraga raised his left arm for a precise blow that Stain knew would knock him unconscious or worse.

"Resistance is futile, Stain. It's time to end this interaction," Mahoraga said, preparing to eliminate him.

At that critical moment, Stain's tactical mind overcame his ideology. Survival, for now, was the only option. It was not a cowardly retreat, but a strategic maneuver against an incomprehensible enemy.

With a final flurry of throwing knives as a distraction, Stain launched himself toward the rooftops. He jumped, using the darkness and his incredible agility to disappear between the buildings, leaving behind the monster of adaptability. The humiliation was profound, but the lesson brutal: Mahoraga was not a hero, he was an unstoppable force.

"I let you escape for now, Stain, but in our next encounter, I will eliminate you without you even seeing it coming in front of the heroes," Mahoraga said as he imagined that scene, something that fascinated him.
