Days had passed since the STAIN incident, and the students of Class 1-A were currently choosing internships for hero agencies.
Iida's personality, normally so upright, honorable, and rule-abiding, underwent a drastic transformation, with sadness turning into a burning thirst for revenge.
He set aside his ideals of being a "righteous hero" to focus solely on finding and punishing Stain. This manifested itself in his behavior: he became quieter, more distant, and, most worryingly, he chose his internship in Hosu, the same prefecture where Stain had attacked his brother. He wanted to be there, find him himself, and make him pay for what he did to his brother.
Deku was the one who noticed and worried about his friend. He realized what he would do, so he was in a difficult position about helping his friend. Todoroki was also on the lookout because his partner was doing irrational things and he wanted to help him.
Two more days had passed. In Hosu, the situation had reached a critical point. In the afternoon, the Nomus attack would begin, which would only make the situation worse.
"There you are," said Lida when he saw STAIN in an alley and went to attack him.
The Native hero was already immobilized on the ground, and only anger made him attack, only to be quickly overpowered and seriously injured by the Hero Killer.
Lida, with his armor partially damaged, staggered, consumed by fury. Stain stood in front of him with his sword covered in blood.
"Hero Killer, Stain! Tensei... Ingenium! You did it! To my brother!" he said, filled with rage.
"A 'hero' who mourns... Pathetic. The weak are only a burden to a society that has forgotten the meaning of true justice. Your brother... was one of the fakes. Just another one seeking glory and wealth," Stain said in a deep voice.
"Shut up! My brother is a true hero! He cares about others! You have no right to judge him!" Lida said, crying.
"Compassion without the strength to act is a farce. A hero who allows himself to be defeated by a mere criminal... is not worthy of the title. They disgust me. They are a plague that must be purged. You too are a fake, driven by personal grudges. Is that what you call justice?" Stain said.
"I don't care what you say! I am Ingenium! And I will stop you! For my brother!" Lida said as she prepared her thrusters even though she was severely damaged.
"Then you will burn with the flame of your own impotence, fake hero. Your revenge blinds you," Stain said as he raised his katana.
At that moment, Deku appeared on the scene, preventing Stain from delivering the final blow to Iida as he struck him.
"Lida, it's okay," Deku said as he approached, seeing him wounded.
"Deku, what are you doing here?" Lida said, surprised to see him.
"I came because I was worried. You're my friend, and I want to help you," said Deku.
Then everyone felt a sinister and overwhelming presence appear. They saw it slowly approaching. It was Mahoraga, whose incredible height made him look terrifying.
"There you are, STAIN. I told you we'd meet again," said Mahoraga in a deep, terrifying voice.
Upon hearing that voice, STAIN tensed up. He didn't think about the children and turned around, and when he saw him, he just raised his katana.
"So you decided to show up too, Mahoraga," said Stain as he analyzed his escape route.
"Last time I decided to let you go, but not anymore. It's time to eliminate you," said Mahoraga.
Then everyone watched as Mahoraga began to run toward STAIN. Deku, seeing this, began to flee with Lida out of the alley. He didn't want to get involved without help and without a plan.
Stain didn't care about the little heroes. He only focused on whether to face Mahoraga, even though he knew he couldn't defeat him or flee, even if that meant losing his reputation as a killer.
