Night passed, and the next day came quickly, and I was grateful. What I needed right now was a distraction from my intrusive thoughts telling me to go back home to my mom. Mira was kind enough to give me some of my clothes. They were slightly tighter at the chest area, but anything would do, honestly.
The first lectures passed, and there was no sign of Tavian… until the second lecture. The moment he stepped into the hall, the air around me thickened. His eyes met mine, and I averted my gaze back to my note. His footsteps stopped when he got to my side, and I released an exasperated sigh.
Of course, he was going to sit here.
He was silent most of the time, and he surprised me by paying attention to the lectures. My brief moment of peace shattered when I tried to bolt out immediately. The bells rang, but he grabbed my wrist, stopping me in my tracks.
My heart skipped a beat.
"What now, Tavian?" I bit out, not bothering to hide the annoyance in my tone.
